If you can make a telephone call and click a button you are technically savvy enough to attend a Webinar. They are informal and survivor-friendly. You can take breaks if you need or ask for on-line or e-mail support if you get overwhelmed. They are informative and a great way to feel less isolated and they are totally private. There is no camera and you can choose any user name you wish. CEUs may be available upon request.

“What it has been/is like for me to go from being split to having achieved full integration.”
What it has been/is like for me to go from being split into over 30 parts for the past 30 plus years to having achieved full integration, with a few surprises along the way as of April 15 of this year, and what it’s like living as a whole person, after being dissociated and living life as a multiple for the past 38 years. As well as what lies ahead for me now that I am integrated and facing the world from a whole new perspective.
A life long advocate for justice in every facet of society, Alison has consistently refused to take “no” for an answer when the moral imperative shouts “yes,” regardless of inconvenience to the status quo.
Alison a survivor of inter-generational cult abuse from Canada., diagnosed with MPD/DID at the age of 18, has been determined to live a life free from the fear of being abused in the future, achieved her dream and in 2010, and no longer lives in constant fear for her life. Over the past 3 1/2 years of intensive psycho-therapy, Alison has achieved integration and on April 15th of this year went from being split into multiple different parts to one whole person, and is now in the process of learning to live her life coping with this new reality. When not working publicly as an activist, she creates and shares music with others, reminding us all that justice and art can hold hands. Alison currently works part-time as a Piano teacher and is a member of her local paper’s Community Editorial Board, responsible for writing a bimonthly op-ed column on a topic of her choosing.

As survivors, many of us feel the need for help from a mental health professional from time to time. Yet too often, attempts to get help seem to sputter along, or even fail all together. Most therapists are caring people with a sincere desire to help, and most clients who seek professional assistance are doing their best to explain their needs and ask for that help.
If most people are mostly doing their best most of the time, why are so many clients left with the feeling that they aren't getting what they need from therapy, and why do so many therapists appear to be dealing with a completely different person from you, the lady or gentleman sitting in their office?
Often, the answer is that therapists have not experienced severe trauma and are speaking from a 'healthy lifetime' point of view, overlaid with specific ideas, theories, and requirements of their profession. Meanwhile, survivors of severe, chronic abuse are speaking from the point of view of people who have rarely, if ever, experienced a safe, content lifestyle, and while many of us are very experienced in seeing therapists, we still don't know what the heck those therapists are thinking.
The goal of this webinar is to provide the client with some insight into the mindset of the therapist (and therapists with insight into the mindset of the client), so that clients and therapists can communicate effectively.
Alikina has experience as both a survivor and a therapist. She grew up in a household that was emotionally, spiritually, physically, sexually, and ritually abusive. She has a BA in psychology and will finish her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling this year. Alikina has been seeing clients in a community counseling center for over a year. One of her current projects focuses on collecting terminology that is often misunderstood between therapists and clients.

As survivors, many of us feel the need for help from a mental health professional from time to time. Yet too often, attempts to get help seem to sputter along, or even fail all together. Dr. Karriker believes that to deny the existence of ritual abuse and/or mind control is to desecrate the memory of victims who died at the hands of evil and to discredit the work of all people who have striven to expose crimes in which abusive rituals, mind control techniques, and similar forms of extreme abuse have been used to sexually exploit, physically harm, emotionally torment, and spiritually damage its victims. In this webinar, she will (1) discuss the rationale for and the development of the Extreme Abuse Survey Series conducted online in English and German in 2007; (2) share responses from more than 2,000 survivors, professional helpers, and child caregivers from six continents which validate that individual survivors are not alone in their struggles with the aftereffects of these unspeakable crimes; and (3) tell webinar participants about the efforts that the EAS researchers have made and will continue to make (via a book to be published later this year in English and German) to honor their commitment to provide opportunities for the voices of extreme abuse survivors to be heard around the world.

"Resourcefulness as a survival tool. Drawing on both internal and external resources"
Alison grew up within an inter-generational cult in Eastern Ontario, Canada rooted in the Knights of Columbus and the 18th century Catholic Church. To pay for disappointing her family of not carrying on the tradition of the firstborn son, Alison bore three children by members of her family and was forced to sacrifice them. She did her University studies from 1993-2004 during which time she struggled with unmanaged dissociation, anorexia and bulimia.
Her healing began in a treatment program in the USA, and continues at home in Canada. Alison has two published articles and now speaks out about SRA. She has been recently diagnosed with a terminal illness and still continues her endeavors to bring light to the issue of SRA. She has worked as an HIV counselor and a rep on the LGBTQ Caucus of the Ontario NDP. Alison is a part time music theory teacher and Artist Manager.
Having the ability to be resourceful has kept Alison alive for the past 36 years. She believes that all human beings have basic human rights as outlined in the Canadian Human Rights Code, and she has drawn on resources, both internal as well as external. She will be talking about how this resourcefulness has saved her life and will offer suggestions on how other survivors can find and draw on their own many resources.

Survivorship is pleased to announce a new webinar series, in 2 parts, for professionals, for which you can request CEUs. (through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences which covers Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT); Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW); Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEP); Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC); MFT Interns (IMF); Associate Clinical Social Workers (ASW); and Professional Clinical Counselor Interns (PCCI) in the State of California).

Presenter:
Staci Sprout, LICSW, CSAT, has 16 years of post-graduate experience as a psychotherapist and social worker in clinical practice, community mental health, hospitals, nursing homes, and public health. For the last five years her practice has focused almost exclusively as an individual, group and couples therapist working with adults in recovery from sexual and related addictions. She completed the HARE Psychopathy training in 2008 and has conducted forensic evaluations for adults accused of sexual crimes. As a therapy client and addict herself with over 20 years of successful personal recovery, Staci brings a compassionate and direct approach to the complex topic of sexual ethics. Sexual Ethics Series
This 2 part series is designed to raise awareness about key ethical sexual issues facing helping professionals today. I offer practical tools to enhance your treatment of sexual issues, an ethical decision-making model, guidance on when to refer, consideration of ethnic and cultural issues, information about less obvious yet important sexual boundary issues in the helping relationship, and a case study presentation of sexual challenges in a clinical setting transforming and resolving over time. Please note: Sexual Ethics 102 builds on the information shared in Sexual Ethics 101, but can be taken without having already completed this class.
Sexual Ethics 101
CLIENT EMPOWERMENT: Learn a practical, dynamic tool that includes a vision of sexual health to assists clients in discerning their sexual behavior and values, and then explore them more deeply over time. This tool is called “The Four Pillars of Sexual Integrity”
ETHICAL CHOICES: Learn a working model of ethical decision-making called “The Five Stars of Ethical Excellence” to assist in deliberation of even the most challenging ethical dilemmas
SCOPE OF PRACTICE ISSUES: Receive clear guidance on when to refer to sexual specialists, including Certified Sex Therapists (CST), LGBTQ Specialists, and Certified Sexual Addictions Therapists (CSAT), and/or Sex Offender Treatment Providers (SOTP).
ETHICAL STATEMENT: Receive a sample personal ethics statement, as a starting point for your practice or organization, that addresses sexual issues

Alison grew up within an inter-generational cult in Eastern Ontario, Canada rooted in the Knights of Columbus and the 18th century Catholic Church. To pay for disappointing her family of not carrying on the tradition of the firstborn son, Alison bore three children by members of her family and was forced to sacrifice them. She did her University studies from 1993-2004 during which time she struggled with unmanaged dissociation, anorexia and bulimia.
Her healing began in a treatment program in the USA, and continues at home in Canada. Alison has two published articles and now speaks out about SRA. She has been recently diagnosed with a terminal illness and still continues her endeavors to bring light to the issue of SRA. She has worked as an HIV counselor and a rep on the LGBTQ Caucus of the Ontario NDP. Alison is a part time music theory teacher and Artist Manager.
Having the ability to be resourceful has kept Alison alive for the past 36 years. She believes that all human beings have basic human rights as outlined in the Canadian Human Rights Code, and she has drawn on resources, both internal as well as external. She will be talking about how this resourcefulness has saved her life and will offer suggestions on how other survivors can find and draw on their own many resources.

Staci Sprout, LICSW, CSAT, has 16 years of post-graduate experience as a psychotherapist and social worker in clinical practice, community mental health, hospitals, nursing homes, and public health. For the last five years her practice has focused almost exclusively as an individual, group and couples therapist working with adults in recovery from sexual and related addictions. She completed the HARE Psychopathy training in 2008 and has conducted forensic evaluations for adults accused of sexual crimes. As a therapy client and addict herself with over 20 years of successful personal recovery, Staci brings a compassionate and direct approach to the complex topic of sexual ethics. Sexual Ethics Series
This 2 part series is designed to raise awareness about key ethical sexual issues facing helping professionals today. I offer practical tools to enhance your treatment of sexual issues, an ethical decision-making model, guidance on when to refer, consideration of ethnic and cultural issues, information about less obvious yet important sexual boundary issues in the helping relationship, and a case study presentation of sexual challenges in a clinical setting transforming and resolving over time. Please note: Sexual Ethics 102 builds on the information shared in Sexual Ethics 101, but can be taken without having already completed this class.

CLIENT EMPOWERMENT: Learn a practical, dynamic tool that includes a vision of sexual health to assists clients in discerning their sexual behavior and values, and then explore them more deeply over time. This tool is called “The Four Pillars of Sexual Integrity”
ETHICAL CHOICES: Learn a working model of ethical decision-making called “The Five Stars of Ethical Excellence” to assist in deliberation of even the most challenging ethical dilemmas

Most survivors have questions about their memory processes at some time: 'is it true, did it happen?' or 'why can't I remember?', or even 'why do I keep having intrusive memories?' As we heal, we also become aware of times when our memories seem different than how we've been lead to believe 'normal' memory works. We feel like we forget too much, or we have nearly perfect memories. Often questions about memories of abuse are addressed in therapy, groups, books, etc; but questions about the everyday workings of memory, and how abuse may be affecting our brain function, stay unanswered.
This webinar will primarily focus on what current psychological science knows about basic memory processes, as well as issues unique to the survivor community, learning styles and how they affect memory, tricks to assist remembering, and plenty of Q & A time.
Alikina is a survivor of severe abuse and a current grad-school student halfway through her Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling. She has presented articles and webinars for Survivorship in the past. She has worked with abuse survivors through community support organizations and been in therapy as both the client and the therapist, and plans to work with abuse and trauma survivors as her career path.

deJoly LaBrier was born into a Marine Corps family that was involved in a child sex ring, government experimentation and a sadistic ritualistic cult. In 1988, deJoly began the healing journey toward wholeness while identifying 52+ alter personalities that carried on her life. She is the author of two books, DIARY OF A SURVIVOR IN ART AND POETRY, and ALL TOGETHER NOW, A MULTIPLE'S STORY OF HOPE & HEALING. Today she lives with her partner in the mountains of Northwest Georgia, enjoying the serenity and beauty of nature.
deJoly LaBrier will talk about the methods she used to heal from the effects of ritualized torture, an organized child sex ring, and government experimentation. In her recent book, ALL TOGETHER NOW, A MULTIPLE'S STORY OF HOPE AND HEALING, deJoly writes in detail about the various forms the abuse took. She is grateful that during the early part of her recovery, she was introduced to the 12-Steps of AA, as they have been adapted into other groups.

Most survivors have questions about their memory processes at some time: 'is it true, did it happen?' or 'why can't I remember?', or even 'why do I keep having intrusive memories?' As we heal, we also become aware of times when our memories seem different than how we've been lead to believe 'normal' memory works. We feel like we forget too much, or we have nearly perfect memories. Often questions about memories of abuse are addressed in therapy, groups, books, etc; but questions about the everyday workings of memory, and how abuse may be affecting our brain function, stay unanswered. This webinar will primarily focus on what current psychological science knows about basic memory processes, as well as issues unique to the survivor community, learning styles and how they affect memory, tricks to assist remembering, and plenty of Q & A time.
Alikina is a survivor of severe abuse and a current grad-school student halfway through her Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling. She has presented articles and webinars for Survivorship in the past. She has worked with abuse survivors through community support organizations and been in therapy as both the client and the therapist, and plans to work with abuse and trauma survivors as her career path.

"Authentic Sexuality after Extreme Sexual Abuse: Part II: Tools You Can Use."
This Webinar follows up what was begun in the December Webinar. (If you were not there I recommend reviewing it on the Survivorship Website). We will take the concepts of sexual addiction/anorexia in the context of surviving extreme trauma to the next practical level: how to assess your current sexual health today, how to organize daily nurturing tasks to improve sexual self-esteem, what is the role of making love with yourself/masturbation, and what are your visions for a healthy tomorrow? We will discuss sexuality in both general and specific terms.
Staci Sprout works as an individual group psychotherapist at Sexual Recovery Services in Washington state. (See www.sexualrecoveryservices.com for more information.). She is a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT). She is also a survivor of extreme trauma and will share "what's worked" along her personal journey of recovery as part of the presentation. Caution will be taken to promote safety by not using explicit language or stories, though content at times may be triggering for survivors.
COST
Last year, Webinars cost $20.00. Now we have changed to a sliding scale so that each person can pay what they are able to. The scale starts at $50.00 and, in $5.00 increments, goes down to $0.00 (full scholarship). There is no longer any need to request a full or partial scholarship -- you make the decision yourself. I’d like to start by offering some reassurance about the Webinars themselves.

DESCRIPTION OF THE WEBINAR Some kinds of trauma and “split-brain” programming have caused survivors to have difficulty thinking with the right and left sides of their brains at the same time. Steps to healing involve first understanding what parts of the brain usually do what jobs and then finding activities that help the brain heal damaged pathways. We will focus on some simple exercises in movement, drawing, and music that can assist survivors in their healing journeys.
Isadora of the OwlClan is a member of a multiple system that has survived ritual abuse and child pornography. The OwlClan is currently working on their master’s degree in psychology. The OwlClan has also been using dance and bodywork for over ten years as a part of their own healing.

NOW FOR THE WEBINAR
In a Survivorship survey done in 2003, 68% of those answering said they had an eating disorder. That’s almost three quarters of us that are struggling daily with food! The figure is far higher than the national average because ritual abuse brings some very specific issues. We were made to eat horrible things, starved for days, told we didn't deserve food, punished for eating, and punished for not eating.
Elle Snow will help us look at the effects of abuse around food and share information about DID, eating disorders, and nutrition.
Elle received her MSW at Smith College where she became interested in studying DID from an international perspective. She has worked with Meshketian Turks and Somali Bantus and recently spent a year in the war zone of Uganda providing treatment to help child soldiers in their recovery from programming. Currently, Elle has a practice in Santa Monica and Redondo Beach CA treating ritual abuse survivors and survivors of other torture.

Before I start talking about the eating disorders presentation, I’d like to offer some reassurance about the Webinars themselves.
They are easy to join. If you can make a telephone call and click a button you are technically savvy enough to attend a Webinar. They are informal and survivor-friendly. You can take breaks if you need or ask for support if you get overwhelmed. They are informative and a great way to feel less isolated. And for the worried littles, there is no camera and nobody can see you or know who you are. Totally private! I hope you join us!
NOW FOR THE WEBINAR
In a Survivorship survey done in 2003, 68% of those answering said they had an eating disorder. That’s almost three quarters of us that are struggling daily with food! The figure is far higher than the national average because ritual abuse brings some very specific issues. We were made to eat horrible things, starved for days, told we didn't deserve food, punished for eating, and punished for not eating.
Elle Snow will help us look at the effects of abuse around food and share information about DID, eating disorders, and nutrition.
Elle received her MSW at Smith College where she became interested in studying DID from an international perspective. She has worked with Meshketian Turks and Somali Bantus and recently spent a year in the war zone of Uganda providing treatment to help child soldiers in their recovery from programming. Currently, Elle has a practice in Santa Monica and Redondo Beach CA treating ritual abuse survivors and survivors of other torture.
COST
Last year, Webinars cost $20.00. Now we have changed to a sliding scale so that each person can pay what they are able to. The scale starts at $50.00 and, in $5.00 increments, goes down to $0.00 (full scholarship). There is no longer any need to request a full or partial scholarship -- you make the decision yourself. We've had Webinars by Mike Skinner, a musician, and Lynn Schirmer, an artist, who use their talents to spread the word about publically. Most of us, though, use art and music in a much more private way to advance out own healing. Now we can hear somebody just like us share her process and reassure us that art is for everybody.
"How a 'Non-Artist' Uses Art for Healing."
Flower will be showing slides of some of her artwork and explaining how she used art to help in her healing process. She is not an artist, and so brings the perspective that it is something anyone can do. Talent is not needed. :-)
Flower is a survivor of SRA. She grew up in a generational cult family but was unaware of that until much later in life. Her love of writing is reflected in poetry, private journaling, and several blogs. One blog focuses specifically on her thoughts as a survivor. She has a strong faith in her Creator and has known Yeshua/Jesus since she was a small child...which is reflected in some of her healing art and writings. She also loves taking photos and combining them with encouraging words.

Tuesday, July 13, 2010 For Roman Polanski, the long, unspeakable nightmare of being confined to his three-story chalet in Gstaad, the luxury resort in the Swiss Alps, is finally over. The fugitive director is free once again to stroll into town, have a nice meal, maybe do a little shopping at the local Cartier, Hermes or Louis Vuitton boutiques....
Anyone tempted to feel Polanski's pain should take a closer look at the case. In 1977, when he was 43, Polanski lured a 13-year-old girl to a house in the Hollywood hills owned by Jack Nicholson -- the actor was not home at the time -- and plied her with drugs and champagne before having sex with her.
Polanski and his lawyers claimed that the sex was consensual. That's absurd as a legal argument, since the girl was too young to give her consent. But the girl's grand jury testimony makes clear that this was anything but a no-fault romp. She testified that Polanski, on the ruse of photographing her and wanting to make her a star, persuaded her to pose nude and then assaulted her.
She testified that Polanski raped and sodomized her, against her will, and that she was distraught before, during and after the act. The director was indicted on six felony charges, including rape by use of drugs and child molestation, but he was allowed to plead guilty to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse. Polanski, who spent about a month and a half in jail, thought he had a deal that would get him off with nothing worse than 90 days in confinement under psychiatric observation. But when the judge had second thoughts about going through with such a lenient deal, Polanski fled. Flower aka Garden
Flower will be showing slides of some of her artwork and explaining how she used art to help in her healing process. She is not an artist and so brings the perspective that it is something anyone can do. Talent is not needed. :-)

Flower will be showing slides of some of her artwork and explaining how she used art to help in her healing process. She is not an artist, and so brings the perspective that it is something anyone can do. Talent is not needed. :-)
Flower is a survivor of SRA. She grew up in a generational cult family but was unaware of that until much later in life. Her love of writing is reflected in poetry, private journaling, and several blogs. One blog focuses specifically on her thoughts as a survivor. She has a strong faith in her Creator and has known Yeshua/Jesus since she was a small child...which is reflected in some of her healing art and writings. She also loves taking photos and combining them with encouraging words.

"Riding off into the Sunrise."
Celestial
"Riding Off Into the Sunrise" shares the landscape of long-haul recovery after the first ten years.
When Celestial's first memory came home to roost, she ran out and bought all the right books and a cookie, joined three support groups, and hired a therapist (telling him "Six sessions should be plenty."). She worked hard to rocket through the past and catapult to recovery, a shining state of normal where the streetlights have keys under them and everyone is Over It by now.
Years and cookies later, she is still plodding with determination, one foot (or hand) in front of the other. She's found that the rockiest places hold the deepest lessons about love for herself, for others, and for the whole world. Being normal still sounds appealing; but instead she gets to be Celestial, telling how even dark parts of the journey hold their own special lights and graces.
By day, Celestial works for people who rescue other people. By night, Celestial is a spiritual standup comic who collects recovery stories. Her favorite foods are mac-and-cheese and tollhouse cookies; but mostly she eats a lot of kale.

"Healthy Supportive Relationships – What They Are, How to Make One."

Relationships are something we all struggle with -- we didn't have any models of good relationships growing up. We have to learn on the job, so to speak, learn by trial and error. What does a healthy supportive relationship look like? What are warning signs of a non-healthy relationship? What can I do about the relationship I'm in now?
Kitty is a survivor of mind control, hypnosis, amateur programming, and some kind of government research/testing. She has been learning and healing for many decades using psychotherapy, faith, music, and self-help techniques. She has applied this learning to her husband, children, friends, and extended family – seeing what makes some relationships work, some *not* work, and how to improve the dysfunctional ones.
