BBC radio presenter Paul Gambaccini arrested in sex abuse inquiry Sat 2 Nov 2013
Veteran BBC broadcaster Paul Gambaccini has been arrested as part of a wider British inquiry set up to examine sexual abuse stemming from claims against late presenter Jimmy Savile.
The US-born radio and TV presenter, 64, confirmed his arrest in a statement but denied the allegations.
He was released on bail following his arrest on Tuesday, which the BBC had previously refused to confirm.
The BBC said the DJ would not be presenting his weekly radio show for "coming weeks".

Cops report increase in complaints
Fresh allegations and reports of sexual abuse in Northland are flooding police hotlines following recent sex cases.
Police believe successful prosecutions and convictions in high-profile cases are giving victims, and people aware of abuse in the region, confidence to lodge fresh complaints.
The Far North - and Kaitaia in particular - has recently been rocked by a stream of cases of young boys and girls being sexually exploited by family and friends.
