Anthony Weiner gets 21 months in prison in sexting case
By Ellie Kaufman and Jean Casarez, CNN
Mon September 25, 2017
New York (CNN) Former Rep. Anthony Weiner was sentenced Monday to 21 months in federal prison for sexting with a minor.
In addition to the prison term, Weiner also was sentenced to three years of supervised release....
Weiner, the estranged husband of Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton's former adviser, cried when the sentence was handed down....
The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Prosecutors recommended a sentence of 21 to 27 months in jail, arguing Weiner's pattern of behavior "suggests a dangerous level of denial and lack of self-control warranting a meaningful incarceratory sentence." Defense attorneys asked that Weiner receive probation....
Weiner's probation terms require him to register as a sex offender. He must also participate in an outpatient sexual offender treatment that will be approved by the probation department.
The 15-year-old girl initially contacted Weiner through a direct message on Twitter in January 2016. Weiner and the girl continued to communicate on social media sites, including Facebook Messenger, Skype, Kik, Confide and Snapchat. The last three messaging applications delete images and messages after users view them.
Weiner asked the teen to "engage in sexually explicit conduct via Skype and Snapchat, where her body was on display, and where she was asked to sexually perform for him," prosecutors said in a sentencing memorandum. Weiner was fully aware of the girl's age when they were communicating, prosecutors said....
He resigned from Congress after a lewd picture appeared on his Twitter page in June 2011. At first, he claimed his account had been hacked but later revealed that he had lied. Sexually charged, sometimes explicit, texts with women also emerged around this time.
Weiner insisted his marriage with Abedin was intact. She gave birth to a son, the couple's only child, six months later.
In 2013, Weiner sought to revive his political career by running for mayor of New York. Two months after he announced his candidacy, screenshots surfaced of sexual conversations that Weiner had with a woman the previous year....
During the 2016 campaign, it was revealed that emails from Hillary Clinton containing classified information were forwarded by Abedin to a computer used by Weiner. A decision by former FBI Director James Comey to alert Congress just days before the election about his agency's investigation into messages potentially related to Clinton's personal server has been cited by Clinton as a key reason she lost the presidential race. Investigators ultimately determined the emails were mostly ones they had previously seen and Clinton was ultimately cleared by the FBI two days before the election.....

Anthony Weiner sentenced to 21 months in federal prison
By Matt Zapotosky September 25
Disgraced former U.S. congressman Anthony Weiner, whose exchange of illicit messages with a teenager wound up playing a role in the 2016 presidential election, was sentenced Monday to 21 months in prison, authorities said.
The penalty marks a stunning downfall for the New York Democrat whose propensity for sending lewd photos to women repeatedly derailed his career in politics, and — in a roundabout way — might also have affected Hillary Clinton’s bid to become president.
It was federal authorities’ investigation of Weiner that led them to emails of his wife, top Clinton aide Huma Abedin, and the discovery of those emails ultimately caused the FBI, as the election campaign drew to a close, to reopen the probe of Clinton’s use of a private email server....
Weiner, 53, pleaded guilty in May to transferring obscene material to a minor, stemming from interactions he had with a 15-year-old who later described the exchanges and released images to the Daily Mail....
Prosecutors said Weiner knew that the girl was a minor and nonetheless asked her to engage in explicit conduct, which is a crime. They asked for a sentence between 21 and 27 months, arguing that Weiner’s misdeeds were “serious and his demonstrated need for deterrence is real.”
“The defendant did far more than exchange typed words on a lifeless cellphone screen with a faceless stranger,” prosecutors wrote in sentencing papers. “With full knowledge that he was communicating with a real 15-year-old girl, the defendant asked her to engage in sexually explicit conduct via Skype and Snapchat, where her body was on display, and where she was asked to sexually perform for him.”....

Child abuse affects brain wiring
Child abuse affects brain wiring
September 25, 2017 by Katherine Gombay
Researchers from the McGill Group for Suicide Studies, based at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute and McGill University's Department of Psychiatry, have just published research in the American Journal of Psychiatry that suggests that the long-lasting effects of traumatic childhood experiences, like severe abuse, may be due to an impaired structure and functioning of cells in the anterior cingulate cortex. This is a part of the brain which plays an important role in the regulation of emotions and mood.
The researchers believe that these changes may contribute to the emergence of depressive disorders and suicidal behaviour....
Impaired neural connectivity may affect the regulation of emotions
The researchers discovered that the thickness of the myelin coating of a significant proportion of the nerve fibres was reduced ONLY in the brains of those who had suffered from child abuse. They also found underlying molecular alterations that selectively affect the cells that are responsible for myelin generation and maintenance. Finally, they found increases in the diameters of some of the largest axons among only this group and they speculate that together, these changes may alter functional coupling between the cingulate cortex and subcortical structures such as the amygdala and nucleus accumbens (areas of the brain linked respectively to emotional regulation and to reward and satisfaction) and contribute to altered emotional processing in people who have been abused during childhood.
The researchers conclude that adversity in early life may lastingly disrupt a range of neural functions in the anterior cingulate cortex....

Association of a History of Child Abuse With Impaired Myelination in the Anterior Cingulate Cortex: Convergent Epigenetic, Transcriptional, and Morphological Evidence
Published online: July 28, 2017
Objective:
Child abuse has devastating and long-lasting consequences, considerably increasing the lifetime risk of negative mental health outcomes such as depression and suicide. Yet the neurobiological processes underlying this heightened vulnerability remain poorly understood. The authors investigated the hypothesis that epigenetic, transcriptomic, and cellular adaptations may occur in the anterior cingulate cortex as a function of child abuse....
Results:
A history of child abuse was associated with cell type–specific changes in DNA methylation of oligodendrocyte genes and a global impairment of the myelin-related transcriptional program. These effects were absent in the depressed suicide completers with no history of child abuse, and they were strongly correlated with myelin gene expression changes observed in the animal model. Furthermore, a selective and significant reduction in the thickness of myelin sheaths around small-diameter axons was observed in individuals with history of child abuse.
Conclusions:
The results suggest that child abuse, in part through epigenetic reprogramming of oligodendrocytes, may lastingly disrupt cortical myelination, a fundamental feature of cerebral connectivity.

United Nation of Islam 'trafficked woman for a decade, Victim of Asian grooming gang, Student raped, killed 8-year-old girl for ritual
- Muslim cult 'trafficked woman for a decade, starting when she was 11, forcing her to work for free and subjecting her to emotional abuse'

Muslim cult 'trafficked woman for a decade, starting when she was 11, forcing her to work for free and subjecting her to emotional abuse'
Kendra Ross, 26, was a member of the United Nation of Islam (UNOI) from the age of 11 to 21
During that time, she says that the group forced her to work in UNOI restaurants without pay
After working full shifts, she was then expected to do all of the cooking and cleaning in the UNOI homes she lived in
She finally escaped the cult in 2012, and is now suing the group, now known as The Value Creators, for more than $450,000 in unpaid wages
Ross is also demanding more than $2 million in damages for her suffering and $5 million in punitive damages
UNOI was founded in 1978 by Royall Jenkins, who claimed to have been abducted by 'angels' who instructed him on how to govern Earth
By Ashley Collman 19 September 2017
A young woman who escaped a Muslim cult is now suing the group, claiming she was physically and emotionally abused and made to work without wages for the decade that she was a follower.
Kendra Ross, 26, was just 11 years old when her mother joined the United Nation of Islam (UNOI) in 2002.
For the next 10 years, Ross says that she was sent to various cities throughout the country to work at restaurants owned and operated by the group. After a full day of work, she says she was then expected to go home and do all the cooking and cleaning in the group homes where she lived with other UNOI members. She says she never received a cent for her more than 40,000 hours of labor....
UNOI was founded in 1978 by Royall Jenkins, a former member of the Nation of Islam - itself an African-American-focused off-shoot of mainstream Islam.
Jenkins claimed that he had been abducted by 'angels and/or scientists' who took him via spaceship to another galaxy where he was given instructions on how to govern Earth.
'UNOI doctrine focused primarily on the supremacy of Jenkins as God on Earth,' the lawsuit claims.
One of the fundamental teachings was that the 'black man' is superior to the 'white man' and that men are superior to women....
He set up his religion in an impoverished area of Kansas City, Kansas, growing the religion to include several businesses that his followers worked at for free. Soon, he had branches of the religion in several other cities including Newark, New Jersey; the Harlem neighborhood of New York City; Atlanta, Georgia; Cincinnati, Ohio; Dayton, Ohio; Temple Hills, Maryland; and Mobile, Alabama.
The communities are insular, with children being educated at UNOI schools, UNOI members living in group homes and working at UNOI owned and operated businesses without pay.
'UNOI forced its members to work in various businesses it owned, including, but not limited to, restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, gas stations, a sewing factory and a construction company,' the lawsuit says.
'As detailed below, many members (including Ms. Ross) worked every day of the week with no breaks. Many members worked at UNOI bakeries, restaurants, and school for eight hour shifts during the day and were expected to do additional work (cooking, cleaning, childcare) when they returned to the home where they were staying.'
While UNOI still exists, though under a new name (The Value Creators), many of these businesses have since closed - suggesting a plummeting in membership....
When she turned 12, Ross was taken out of her mother's home and sent to live in a UNOI women's home.
During this time, she became malnourished after being put on a strict diet of rice, beans, fruit and salad. This may have had to do with the fact that female members of the church were actually required to pay a fee if they exceeded the 'ideal' weight.
For the two years, Ross continued to work at the bakery and in the home.
At the age of 15, she was pulled out of school and never allowed to return again.
It was also at this time that Ross was first sent away to work....
She worked full time at a restaurant and then was forced to prepare food, cook and clean the house. Ross only spent about four to five months in Atlanta before she was sent back to Kansas City for not having the 'proper attitude'.
When she got back to Kansas City, she was sent to live in a new UNOI home with a few younger women, men and couples. During her time in this home, she says she was 'subjected to physical and emotional abuse by the caretaker of the home'.
Seven days a week, she would work a nine-hour shift at a UNOI diner, and then return home to 'clean, cook and serve everyone until 8:30pm or 9pm each night'....
At the age of 20, she was married to another member of the group after a 'psychic doctor'determined that they were compatible.
Once married, 'Ms Ross was forced to do all the cooking, cleaning and housework in the home she shared with her UNOI husband'. Like many UNOI husbands, hers practiced polygamy.
In 2012, after just a year of marriage, Ross finally 'gathered her courage and strength to escape from UNOI.
Since 2015, Ross has lived in a safe house to 'avoid detection by her former traffickers'.....

I was raped by THOUSANDS of men from the age of just 14, says victim of Asian grooming gang
Caitlin Spencer - not her real name - was abused by an Asian grooming gang
The mother-of-two has written a book outlining the terrible abuse she suffered
She had seven abortions and two miscarriages and two daughters while abused
She claims that the gang who abused her is still at large
By Darren Boyle 20 September 2017
A victim of an Asian sex gang who was first raped aged just 14 claims she was abused by thousands of men over a 15-year period.
The victim has written a book outlining her terrible ordeal using the name Caitlin Spencer, where she reveals she was forced to have seven abortions, two miscarriages and two children by the men.
The book, Please, Let Me Go, said Caitlin was initially dismissed by police after making a complaint as being 'a prostitute'....
Although she got the courage to complain to police no successful prosecution has ever been brought.
She said: 'These men find it OK to rape non-Muslim girls. It's a brutal cult and needs to be stopped. There are other young British girls who are still suffering today in the way I suffered at the hands of Muslim men, who should be behind bars.'
Commenting on the recent Newcastle grooming case, which did not involve her, where 17 men were convicted of grooming and raping 278 girls as young as 13, she told The Mirror: 'There is no way the gangs are that small, I can guarantee that. I would be taken to places across the country. I cannot count how many men raped me, but I believe it runs into thousands.'....
Last month, one woman and 17 men were convicted of or admitted to charges including rape, supplying drugs and inciting prostitution in a series of trials at Newcastle Crown Court in northeast England.
The crimes follow a pattern that has become grimly familiar from cases across Britain in the last few years. The convicted men mostly come from South Asian Muslim backgrounds. Their victims - who were plied with drugs and alcohol before being abused at parties, in taxis or in back rooms - are mostly white.
The prosecution of child-grooming gangs in Rochdale, Rotherham, Oxford and now Newcastle has raised uncomfortable questions. Some allege that the crimes were long ignored by authorities afraid they would be branded racist or fearful the allegations might inflame ethnic tensions....

Uniport finally speaks on identity of student who raped, killed 8-year-old girl for ritual
August 30, 2017
By John Owen Nwachukwu
The University of Port Harcourt, Uniport, has identified a 200-level student, Ifeanyi Dike of the Department of Physics, as the suspect who abducted, raped, killed and dismembered his 8-year old niece, for ritual purposes.
Uniport made the confirmation via a statement issued on Wednesday by the school’s spokesperson, Dr. Williams Wodi, in Port Harcourt.
Dike was said to have abducted, raped, killed and dismembered the body of his 8-year-old niece, Chikamso Nmezuwuba, on Aug. 19 for ritual purposes.
Members of a vigilance group arrested the suspect in the Eliozu area in Port Harcourt, while he was on the way to dispose the body of Chikamso, after using other parts of her body for ritual.

Jeffrey Sandusky, son of Jerry Sandusky, pleads guilty in child sex abuse case
September 15, 2017
Jeffrey Sandusky, son of Jerry Sandusky, pleaded guilty to child sex abuse charges on Friday, exactly one week before his trial was set to begin.
Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller announced Friday night that Sandusky, 41, of State College, had pleaded guilty to "all charges," which includes 12 felonies.
Jeff Sandusky is one of the notorious former Penn State football assistant's adopted children.
He was accused of soliciting two girls, ages 15 and 16, for oral sex and nude photos.
When the older teen refused to send Sandusky the photographs he demanded, Parks Miller said, he became more insistent, badgering her to comply over a two day period. Sandusky sought pictures of her "pissing", dressing, naked body parts and nudes. Sandusky instructed the victim in follow-up texts to delete the messages and to not tell anyone, Parks Miller said.
Sandusky's requests were rebuffed by both underage girls, who instead reported the alleged conduct to their parents, state police at Rockview said.

Peter Sarsgaard Tackles LSD, CIA Mind-Control and Political Dissent in 'Wormwood'
9/11/2017 by Ariston Anderson
Peter Sarsgaard in 'Wormwood'
The actor stars as bacteriologist Frank Olson in the new Errol Morris miniseries.
In 1953 bacteriologist Frank Olson plunged to his death from a hotel window after being unknowingly dosed with LSD by the CIA. The headline-grabbing story seemed sinister enough until a decades-long investigation revealed that the actual truth behind his death might be something much more nefarious: a government-order execution to get rid of a political liability.
Peter Sarsgaard brings the last days of Olson’s life to light in the new Errol Morris miniseries Wormwood, a 258-minute odyssey that is one part detective story and one part a history of government deception. The period flashbacks are contrasted with present-day interviews with Frank Olson’s introspective son Eric, who has spent his life trying to uncover the mystery of his dissident father’s death....
Do you share your character's paranoia and questioning of the government?
I don’t have paranoia of the government because I know that it’s up to no good a lot of the time. They advertise it now; they don’t hide it. So at least my paranoia is gone. I’ve never trusted completely any government; I don’t think you are supposed to. Like at a certain point you are supposed to see your parents as people, not as mom and dad and be able to deal with them as people. I think a lot of people treat the government as parents that they aren’t allowed to criticize in any way....
What’s the solution?
I think education. I actually think that real autonomous education, free from any government input is what helps....

Whilst the international community has become increasingly aware and accepting of the dangers of abuse whether through cyber grooming and bullying, trafficking, abuse by family and others, (i.e. multiperpetrator abuse), Ritual Abuse, also known as Ritualistic abuse or sadistic abuse, still lacks acceptance. This places victims at greater risk and adds to the problems faced by mental health professionals.
Internal and External Safety Alison Miller, PhD
Dr. Miller is a psychologist recently retired from private practice in British Columbia, Canada. She has worked with survivors of ritual abuse and mind control since 1991. She has been a fellow of the ISST-D (International Society for the Study of Trauma & Dissociation) since 2013. She is the 2017 Chair of the Ritual Abuse/Mind Control/Organized Abuse Special Interest Group of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. Her books include: Becoming Yourself: Overcoming Mind Control and Ritual Abuse (for survivors), Healing the Unimaginable: Treating Ritual Abuse and Mind Control (for therapists), and (with Wendy Hoffman) From the Trenches: A Survivor and Therapist Talk about Mind Control and Ritual Abuse (in press).
Victims of organized abuse, in particular mind control and ritual abuse, frequently have deliberately designed personality systems with parts trained to maintain the security of the perpetrator group. Survivors' physical safety is endangered by parts trained to maintain ongoing contact with perpetrators.
The Complexities of Identifying Ritual Abuse and Mind Control in Your Clients
Eileen Aveni, LCSW, LMSW, ACSW, BCD
Eileen Aveni, LCSW, LMSW, ACSW, BCD, holds a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. She is currently in private practice in Fairfax, Virginia, where she also does full-day & longer intensives and consultations for ritual abuse, mind control and organized abuse survivors and their therapists from around the US. She also maintains a very active online practice which serves both Virginia and Michigan. Eileen has been working with ritual abuse and mind control survivors for over 27 years.
Recognition of ritual abuse and mind control in survivors is complex, as they often present with clues that are not obvious to a clinician unfamiliar with this more complex and severe type of trauma. This presentation will provide an overview of the clinical features and clues that ritual abuse and mind control may be present in the background of a client, despite apparently unrelated presenting problems.
Working With Ritual Abuse Survivors: Patterns and Challenges
Lynette Danylchuk, PhD
Lynette Danylchuk, PhD, has recently finished her term as President of The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD). She has also been the Director of ISSTD’s Professional Training Program, and Co-chair of ISSTD’s Center for Advanced Studies in Trauma and Dissociation Certificate Program, the gold standard in trauma training for complex PTSD and dissociation.
There are several patterns and behaviors that are common in survivors of ritualized abuse, and these show up in therapy in ways that impact treatment and the therapeutic relationship. Being able to identify those common themes helps both therapist and client see both the adaptive value in them, and how they need to change to allow the client to become self-empowered and free.
Organised Abuse in Adulthood: Towards a Cooperative Interagency Response
Michael Salter, PhD
Dr. Michael Salter is a senior lecturer in criminology at Western Sydney University, Australia. He is the author of the book Organised Sexual Abuse (Routledge, 2013) as well as numerous papers and book chapters on organised abuse, child abuse and violence against women.
This session will present the findings of an Australian interview study with women disclosing organised abuse in adulthood and the mental health professionals who support them. Organised abuse refers to the sexual abuse of multiple children by multiple perpetrators acting in a coordinated way, and is reported by a significant minority of clients in dissociative disorder clinics. It is not unusual for adults disclosing organised abuse to indicate that abuse continued into adulthood, and may be ongoing at the time of treatment.

What the information below shows is that there was no panic or witch hunt and that there was evidence backing the original charges, including one defendant's confession and the children's testimony. Media coverage in this Austin newspaper was balanced and did cover both sides of the story, unlike the coverage in the news today.
Information from the news articles:
Fran Keller's brother Johnson in a separate case was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a 4-year-old and received an eight-year sentence in a plea bargain.
One child in the case was treated in a psychiatric hospital for several weeks after the allegations of abuse surfaced. "His prognosis is he will probably need therapy off and on the rest of his life." Parents described how their preschoolers' behavior changed in odd ways.
Perry (a defendant who later recanted his confession): His confession contained graphic details of a variety of sexual acts performed on two children, and it substantiated claims made by the children that they had been threatened and terrorized into not speaking out.
August 22, 2017 case update:
Dan and Fran Keller…will receive $3.4 million from a state fund for those wrongly convicted of crimes.
The couple's circumstances changed in June, when Travis County District Attorney Margaret Moore filed court documents that dropped all charges and declared the Kellers "actually innocent" under the law. After an extensive review, it was clear that the Kellers' innocence claim should be supported in the interest of justice, Moore said at the time.
Now adults, several of the children who accused the Kellers opposed the move, according to Moore and family members. (Quotes from Austin-American Statesman article) https://ritualabuse.us/ritualabuse/articles/frans-day-care-case-dan-and-fran-keller-news-article-excerpts-from-1991-1993/

Verification of the accuracy of the book “Michelle Remembers“
by Michelle Smith and Lawrence Pazder, MD from the book “A NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER” pages xi – xiii”
“Dr. Pazder’s credentials are impressive. He obtained his M.D. from the University of Alberta in 1961; his diploma in tropical medicine from the University Liverpool in 1962; and in 1968, his specialist certificate in psychiatry and his diploma in psychological medicine from McGill University. In 1971, he was made a fellow of Canada’s Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. He is a member of three Canadian professional associations and of the American Psychiatric Association as well. He practiced medicine in West Africa and has participated in medical task forces and health organizations. He has been chairman of the Mental Health Committee of the Health Planning Council for British Columbia. A member of the staff of two hospitals in Victoria, British Columbia -the Royal Jubilee and the Victoria General-he is in private practice with a group of five psychiatrists. His professional papers include a study of the long-term effects of stress upon concentration-camp victims.
Two experienced interviewers journeyed to Victoria and talked to Dr. Pazder’s colleagues, to the priests and the bishop who became involved in the case, to doctors who treated Michelle Smith when she was a child, to relatives and friends. From local newspaper, clergy, and police sources they learned that reports of Satanism in Victoria are not infrequent and that Satanism has apparently existed there for many years. Satanism in Western Canada flourished in many areas with activities far more ominous than some of the innocuous groups now found in parts of the United States who claim some connection with Satanism.
The source material was scrutinized. The many thousands of pages of transcript of the tape recordings that Dr. Pazder and Michelle Smith made of their psychiatric sessions were read and digested; they became the basis of this book. The tapes themselves were listened to in good measure, and the videotapes made of some of his sessions were viewed. Both the audio and video are powerfully convincing. It is nearly unthinkable that the protracted agony they record could have been fabricated.”

Ritual abuse exists all over the world. There have been reports, journal articles, web pages and criminal convictions of crimes against children and adults.
Definition
Ritual abuse has been defined as:
a brutal form of abuse of children, adolescents, and adults, consisting of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse, and involving the use of rituals. Ritual does not necessarily mean satanic. However, most survivors state that they were ritually abused as part of satanic worship for the purpose of indoctrinating them into satanic beliefs and practices. Ritual abuse rarely consists of a single episode. It usually involves repeated abuse over an extended period of time. The physical abuse is severe, sometimes including torture and killing. The sexual abuse is usually painful, sadistic, and humiliating, intended as means of gaining dominance over the victim. The psychological abuse is devastating and involves the use of ritual/indoctrination, which includes mind control techniques and mind altering drugs, and ritual/intimidation which conveys to the victim a profound terror of the cult members and of the evil spirits they believe cult members can command. Both during and after the abuse, most victims are in a state of terror, mind control, and dissociation in which disclosure is exceedingly difficult.

WHAT IS RITUAL ABUSE? (BROAD DEFINITION) Ritual abuse is the abuse of a child, weaker adult, or animal in a ritual setting or manner. In a broad sense, many of our overtly or covertly socially sanctioned actions can be seen as ritual abuse, such as military basic training, hazing, racism, spanking children, and partner-battering. Some abuse is private...some public. Public ritual abuse may be either open or secret. WHAT IS RITUAL ABUSE? (NARROW DEFINITION) The term ritual abuse is generally used to mean prolonged, extreme, sadistic abuse, especially of children, within a group setting. The group's ideology is used to justify the abuse, and abuse is used to teach the group's ideology. The activities are kept secret from society at large, as they violate norms and laws.
Origins of the term
Pazder introduced the term "ritualized abuse" in 1980, describing the experiences of an adult survivor that was disclosing satanic abuse memories. He defined the phenomenon as "repeated physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual assaults combined with a systematic use of symbols, ceremonies, and machinations designed and orchestrated to attain malevolent effects." Later definitions came mostly from professionals addressing ritual abuse in child care settings. Finkelhor, Williams, Burns, and Kalinowski elaborated on Pazder's definition, defining ritual abuse as "abuse that occurs in a context linked to some symbols or group activity that have a religious, magical or supernatural connotation, and where the invocation of these symbols or activities are repeated over time and used to frighten and intimidate the children." Kelley referred to ritual abuse as the "repetitive and systematic sexual, physical, and psychological abuse of children by adults as part of cult or satanic worship".
Evidence
There is a great deal of evidence supporting the existence of ritual abuse crimes as a worldwide phenomenon. Bottoms, Shaver and Goodman found in their 1993 study evaluating ritual abuse claims that in 2,292 alleged ritual abuse cases, 15% of the perpetrators in adult cases and 30% of the perpetrators in child cases confessed to the abuse. "In a survey of 2,709 members of the American Psychological Association, it was found that 30 percent of these professionals had seen cases of ritual or religion-related abuse (Bottoms, Shaver & Goodman, 1991). Of those psychologists who have seen cases of ritual abuse, 93 percent believed that the reported harm took place and 93 percent believed that the alleged ritualism occurred....The similar research of Nancy Perry (1992) which further supports (the previous findings)…Perry also conducted a national survey of therapists who work with clients with dissociative disorders and she found that 88 percent of the 1,185 respondents indicated ”belief in ritual abuse, involving mind control and programming."
An online survey of over one thousand people answered questions about ritual abuse and extreme abuse crimes. In a summary of the survey, it was found that ritual abuse/mind control is a global phenomenon. Fifty-five percent stated they were abuse in a Satanic cult. Seventy-seven percent of the adult survivors that responded "had been threatened with death if they ever talked about the abuse." Also, "257 respondents reported that secret mind control experiments were used on them as children." Eighty-two percent reported being sexually abused by multiple perpetrators.
Anne Johnson Davis in her book Hell Minus One reported that her parents confessed to her abuse in writing and verbally to clergymen, and to the detectives from the Utah Attorney General’s Office. Her suppressed memories started when she was in her mid-30s, which were fully substantiated by her mother and stepfather....
A study which identified 270 cases of sexual abuse in day care settings found that allegations of ritual abuse occurred in thirteen percent of the cases. Additional evidence of ritual abuse in day care and child abuse cases has been found in news reports, journal articles and legal transcripts.
Ritual abuse occurrences have also been found in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. A ritual abuse case in the United States in 2006 had a confession and convictions. The case included up to 25 children.

Notes on rituals, child porn found at home of elderly Seattle brothers accused of abuse
BY Christopher Brennan
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Wednesday, August 23, 2017
Investigators found toys, used children’s underwear and kids’ shoes at the home where three elderly brothers are accused of fostering their sick obsession with young girls.
Prosecutors say the Seattle home of Charles Emery, 82; Thomas Emery, 80, and Edwin Emery, 78, held handwritten notes about the “kidnapping, torturing, raping and murdering of young girls.”
Investigators say that the men accumulated a trove of child pornography until their niece saw pictures of sexual abuse when cleaning the home earlier this month and called 911.....
Beyond the horrific images, court documents say that the suspects “have shared the majority of their lives sexually abusing children to whom they had access” and wrote graphic descriptions of abusing children.
None of the brothers have children, though evidence provided by their niece included the used underwear, dozens of children’s penny loafers, small vodka bottles, notes about “ritualistic and satanic sacrifices of minor female children” as well as local and national news clips about murdered, missing and abused children....
The youngest brother was also investigated but not prosecuted for child pornography in 2013 after images were found on his computer when he brought it in for repairs, a probe during which he allegedly admitted to abusing a sister and her daughter.

Brothers accused of abuse probed for Lindsey Baum cold-case link
BYChristopher Brennan
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Thursday, August 24, 2017
A flier of a missing 10-year-old girl found in the home of three elderly brothers with notes of satanic rituals has rekindled hopes of a possible cold case break.
Charles Emery, 82, Thomas Emery, 80, and Edwin Emery, 78, were arrested earlier this week on child pornography and sexual abuse charges, with prosecutors saying their home was “littered floor to ceiling” with sick images, toys and children’s shoes.
The discoveries came as a relative was cleaning out their home in Seattle, though investigators are now also looking at the home one of the brothers owned in suburban Shelton....
Authorities are now looking into any potential link the Emery brothers may have to Baum’s fate, with Grays Harbor County Sheriff Rick Scott telling KIRO that a flier about the missing girl was found in the Shelton home.
That discovery comes as investigators looking into both the Shelton and Seattle homes have reportedly found notes about the “ritualistic and Satanic sacrifices of minor female children.”...
That house is 30 minutes from where Lindsey Baum, then 10 years old, vanished in June 2009.
