Tanzania: Ritual Killers On the Loose, As Authorities Appeal for Calm

Bukoba — RITUAL killers, human head hunters and sexual predators are out of their lairs again. They are on the prowl. Five people have been killed in Bukoba Municipality in what seems to be an orgy of superstitious murders.

This time the killers in Bukoba harvested the genitalia out of their victims and escaped with them. Panic is high among Kagera residents. Bukoba District Administrative Secretary (DAS), Clement Ndyamukama has appealed for joint cooperation from members of the public in fighting crime, including ritual killings which are on the increase....

The United Nations human rights officials report a spike in ritual attacks and killings of people with albinism in Tanzania....This, it says, brings the number of attacks since 2000 to 151, including 74 murders....
