Norristown, Pennsylvania (CNN) A jury found Bill Cosby guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault on Thursday, for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his home in a Philadelphia suburb in 2004.

 

 
The 80-year-old comedian faces up to 10 years in prison on each count, but Cosby is likely to serve them concurrently. A sentencing hearing with Judge Steven O'Neill has not yet been scheduled, and Cosby remains out on bail.

Cosby did not audibly react to his conviction, but erupted shortly afterward. Minutes after the verdict, prosecutors asked the judge to revoke Cosby's bail. They said he is a flight risk and has a private plane.
 

 

Cosby, who did not testify in the trial and has sat quietly through the proceedings, stood up and yelled in a booming voice: "He doesn't have a plane, you asshole."

 

Judge O'Neill ruled that Cosby should not leave his Pennsylvania home, and that he would need to be fitted with a GPS tracking device if he left the state....

 

At the retrial, five other Cosby accusers testified as "prior bad acts" witnesses and said that Cosby had drugged and assaulted them decades ago....

 

The case against Cosby centered on testimony from Constand, a former employee with Temple University women's basketball team. She testified that Cosby, a powerful trustee at Temple, drugged her and sexually assaulted her when she visited his home to ask for career advice 14 years ago....

 

The guilty verdict is a remarkable turn of events for the man once known as "America's Dad." Cosby was a groundbreaking actor and the first African-American performer to win an Emmy for his role on "I Spy." He played the sweater-loving Cliff Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," one of the first mainstream TV shows to feature a black upper-middle class family.
Although dozens of women have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct, only Constand's allegations resulted in criminal charges.....

 

Constand initially told police about the assault in 2005, a year after the assault occurred. Former Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor at the time decided not to file charges in the case, and Constand and Cosby settled a civil lawsuit for $3.38 million in 2006.....

For Those Who Condemn Themselves for Acts Coerced Under Torture
Presenter: Ellen Lacter, Ph.D.

Synopsis: One of the most disturbing horrors described by survivors of extreme abuse is having been subjected to torture to coerce them, while being tortured, to harm or kill other victims. Many survivors describe clear memories of first being subjected this form of abuse as young children. The subsequent moral injury is devastating. This workshop will explain how specific torture methods predictably work to coerce victims to harm and kill others; the various psychological responses of victims while they are being coerced to harm others; and abuser methods to coerce victims to harm others outside of immediate torture. This workshop will assign all guilt, shame, and moral responsibility for coerced harm to the perpetrators who execute the torture and will work to help survivors stand in solidarity with other survivors of extreme abuse to do everything in their power to to overcome all self-condemnation for having been coerced through torture to harm other victims. Participants will be provided with a list of statements by the speaker and participants in the clinicians conference proclaiming the innocence of victims coerced to harm others under torture. Note: Survivors should carefully consider beforehand whether to attend this workshop as the material is extremely painful.

Ellen P. Lacter, Ph.D., is a Psychologist and Academic Coordinator of the Play Therapy Certificate Program at University of California- San Diego, Division of Extended Studies. She specializes in the treatment of dissociative disorders and complex trauma, including victims of ritualistic abuse and mind control, has published on this subject, and is an activist on behalf of victims and survivors based in her website: https://endritualabuse.org/. Randy Noblitt, PhD, is a clinical psychologist (licensed in Texas) and professor of clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology at the California School of Psychology at Alliant International University, Los Angeles. In the course of his practice, Randy has treated more than 300 individuals who met the criteria for dissociative identity disorder. He is the principle author of Cult and Ritual Abuse: Its History, Anthropology and Recent Discovery in Contemporary America (Praeger, 1995. 2000), and its third edition, Cult and Ritual Abuse: Narratives, Evidence and Healing Approaches (Praeger, 2014). He is also co-editor and contributing author of the book, Ritual Abuse in the 21st Century: Psychological, Forensic, Social and Political Considerations (Robert Reed, 2008).

Changes in Awareness of Severe Abuse and Child Abuse Crimes Over Twenty Five Years Presenter: Neil Brick
The awareness of severe abuse and child abuse crimes has changed over the last 25 years. In the early 1990s, severe abuse survivors were often believed and supported. Then a backlash started and severe abuse survivors and their supporters were harassed and attacked. The child abuse survivor movement changed and adapted. Ten years ago, research began again to help expose severe abuse crimes. More recently, first in the UK and Australia and now in the United States, a variety of child abuse, severe abuse, sexual harassment and rape cases are bringing public awareness again to the mainstream media of severe abuse crimes. This presentation will discuss the changes of the last 25 years, with an emphasis on the more recent exposures of organized child abuse crimes and social systems that have been part of the cover up of these crimes.

How to Decrease In-Fighting and Increase Respect for the Gifts of All Internal Parts

Understanding one’s internal system is critical to helping every internal part work together for true safety and healing. Often internal parts are at odds with each other (such as higher level alters, reporter alters, persecutor/protector alters, and other internal alters) because they are used to ‘doing their jobs” and following orders. But they are really allies in the system and can be helped to learn better and more effective ways to keep everyone in the system safe and help heal the system. The focus will be on how to communicate with parts who might seem particularly difficult to work with, learn to recognize their true gifts to the internal system, how to develop a community of mutual respect, and eventually lead the system to safety and wholeness.

Eileen Aveni, LMSW, LCSW, ACSW, BCD specializes in working with dissociative identity disorder with a focus on ritualized abuse and mind control. For almost 30 years she has worked alongside other major treatment specialists teaching and training clinicians and community groups on the major issues of these survivors and how to help and support them. She created and led an 8-year long-term therapy for DID/RA/MC survivors, and helped create and run a safe-house for RA/MC survivors for several years. She regularly presents and consults nationally and internationally. She was the 2016 Chair of the Ritual Abuse and Mind Control Special Interest Group, a division of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Survivorship, a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, the National Center for Crisis Management, and is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work.

Introduction to Using Sensorimotor Psychotherapy with Clients with DID
Presenter: Cynthia Henrie, MFT
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a body-oriented, talking therapy developed in the 1980s by Pat Ogden, informed by the work of Ron Kurtz (1990) and the Rolf Method of Structural Integration (Rolf 1987) and enriched by the contributions from the fields of attachment, neuroscience, and dissociation. Sensorimotor Psychotherapy blends cognitive and emotional approaches, verbal dialogue, and physical interventions that directly address the implicit memories and neurobiological effects of trauma. By using bodily experience as a primary entry point in trauma therapy, rather than the events or the “story,” we attend to how the body is processing information, and its interface with emotions and cognitive meaning-making. A Sensorimotor Psychotherapy approach is a useful tool in the work of treating survivors of ritual abuse, mind control and Dissociative Identity Disorder. When used mindfully, Sensorimotor Skills can aid in building a sense of safety and “belonging” within one’s own body. It can help inform both the client and clinician of different alter experiences in their own physical space, and is a useful approach that aids in resolving traumatic experiences, decreasing dissociation and grieving developmental wounding in an individual’s life experience. This is an introduction to the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy approach and some of the ways it can be useful in the treatment of Dissociative Disorders and survivors.

Cynthia Henrie, MFT, is a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, a Feminist Therapist and specializes in the treatment of trauma and dissociation. Ms. Henrie is the founder and director of the Los Angeles Therapy Network, a network of private practice therapists whose mission is to help women through feminist empowerment, trauma survivors, persons with Dissociative Identity Disorder, LGBTQIA issues, rape/sexual assault, human trafficking/slavery and torture. Ms. Henrie graduated from Antioch University with her MA in Clinical Psychology with a Focus on Adolescence & Feminist Therapy. She is trained in the treatment of trauma and dissociation through the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, is a Level II EMDR Practitioner and has completed two years of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which focuses on the treatment of trauma and developmental attachment problems. She is also Sandplay Practitioner. Ms. Henrie is the cofounder of the Los Angeles Dissociative Disorder Study Group, along with Randy Noblitt, PhD which is held at Alliant University.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Presenter: Jillian Jackson
CPT Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is short-term, specific 12 session therapeutic intervention to help adults address specific life events associated with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It was originally designed to assist victims of rape and it has been widely used within the Veterans Administration to assist combat veterans address PTSD. Clinicians are now using this evidence-based practice to help individuals who struggle with a continuum of traumas. CPT is a derivate of the more widely known Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Research demonstrates that CPT is effective in reducing the symptoms associated with PTSD. In this workshop, participants will learn the history of CPT, determine who is an appropriate candidate for the intervention, and how CPT is administered. The workshop will also highlight the research supporting this intervention and discuss it’s outcomes.

NORRISTOWN, Pa. — Jurors in the Bill Cosby sexual assault retrial began their deliberations Wednesday, sifting through evidence they heard during 12 days of testimony and arguments in an effort to determine whether Andrea Constand had been molested by the once-popular entertainer.

 

Last summer jurors spent six days deliberating that question at the Montgomery County Courthouse before Judge Steven T. O’Neill agreed they were hopelessly deadlocked and sent them home.

 

Judge O’Neill, who is presiding at this retrial, charged the jury Wednesday morning. Deliberations began around 11 a.m. and dragged into the night as the 12-member panel considered the presentations by prosecutors and defense lawyers.

 

The latter argued that Ms. Constand, a former Temple University employee who viewed Mr. Cosby as a mentor, had a consensual sexual encounter with Mr. Cosby at his home near here in 2004. But they said she later concocted a story about having been assaulted to pressure him into a financial settlement.

 

Prosecutors said it was Mr. Cosby, now 80, who was the manipulator, a man who hid behind a genial image, they said, while using drugs to incapacitate and assault not just Ms. Constand, but other women as well....

 

Mr. Cosby is charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault: penetration with lack of consent; penetration while unconscious; and penetration after administrating an intoxicant. Each is a felony that could carry up to 10 years in prison if he is convicted....

Ferrer pleads guilty to conspiracy and money laundering

Prosecution against Backpage.com shareholders James Larkin and Michael Lacey continues

SACRAMENTO – California Attorney General Xavier Becerra today announced that defendant Carl Ferrer, Chief Executive Officer of online sex advertising website Backpage.com, has pled guilty to one charge of conspiracy and three counts of money laundering. The defendant entered the guilty plea in Sacramento County Superior Court, resolving charges against him in the criminal case People of the State of California v. Carl Ferrer, Michael Lacey, and James Larkin. This plea follows the permanent shutdown of Backpage.com announced on April 9. The website has been described as the world’s largest online brothel, facilitating human trafficking throughout the world.

Ferrer will cooperate in the prosecution of two controlling shareholders of the website, Michael Lacey and James Larkin. The case against alleged co-conspirators, Lacey and Larkin, continues in Sacramento County Superior Court.

For almost a decade Douglas Misicko using several aliases (including Douglas Mesner and Lucien Greaves) has harassed groups helping child abuse, rape and trauma survivors. He has also harassed groups providing research in support of child abuse, rape and trauma survivors.

In 2013, he and others created a group called the Satanic Temple. One part of this group is called the Grey Faction. The Grey Faction states they “invade” conferences. These conferences are provided to help and educate child abuse, rape and trauma survivors and their helpers.

Their representatives that invade these conferences misrepresent their reasons for attending these conferences. They film people at these conferences without permission and publish these films without the permission of those filmed. The Grey Faction repeatedly misrepresents the research and statements of the people at these conferences. It uses repeated ad hominem attacks against child abuse and trauma researchers without rebutting their research or stories.

His organization uses propaganda techniques in its articles, movies and social media pages to manipulate readers’ opinions. They continue to repeat inaccurate information, even though it has been clearly rebutted in several of the articles listed below.

Douglas Mesner/Lucien Greaves has continued using insults and attacks against survivors of ritual abuse and the professionals that work with them. He has harassed and followed survivors and survivor advocates around the Internet for several years. Aliases have been used adding additional insults and name calling against survivors.

The 37-year-old Dos Palos woman who is accused of killing her mother in an alleged “Satanic” sacrifice was held to answer for murder....

Responding officers found Bal covered in blood, according to investigators’ reports obtained by the Merced Sun-Star. Bal reportedly stabbed her mother during a struggle at least 20 times with an 8-inch kitchen knife.

During the 9-1-1 call played in court Thursday, a female voice identifying herself as Bal calmly tells the operator that she killed her mother by stabbing her and cutting her throat, and that she has a history of mental illness....

But in investigators’ reports, Bal told authorities “It was a calling to kill her” mother as part of a “satanic practice.” She also told them she has used a variety of illegal drugs, and she consumed five beers the night before the murder.

Family members and others told investigators Bal had mental issues and was making troubling statements of a sexual nature the night before, and that she would occasionally make statements referring to satanic practice.

Bal was declared mentally competent to face charges on Feb. 15 after several medical examinations....

The man accused of killing a 19-year-old woman on Saturday morning told police he was seeing faces and hearing voices before the murder, according to court documents. Duncan police interviewed 18-year-old Kevin Miller just hours after he allegedly shot Caitlin Harmon at his home....

Miller told police that Harmon had found the gun in his bathroom earlier in the evening. He said he had then taken the gun to his dad's apartment and left it there but went back and got it about 15 minutes later. He reportedly said he then walked into the bedroom where Harmon was watching TV before shooting and killing her. Miller reportedly told police that he had killed her because she did not want to be with him and he was jealous of what she had....

Police say he told them he had spent his free time that day watching videos on YouTube and he bought a satanic Bible off of Amazon before performing satanic rituals in his backyard....

Warren double-murder suspect to seek insanity ruling

The defense attorney for a man accused of brutally beating to death his aunt and uncle in their Warren home will pursue an insanity defense.

Attorney Stephen Freers formally notified a judge Thursday he will seek a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity for Joseph Borowiak, 38, charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the slayings of Steven and Cynthia Collins late last summer....

The suspect’s Facebook page contained haunting and bizarre posts including a ‘hit list’ that named the Collins’ and their two adult children, terming the deceased couple “exterminians” with arrows next to their names, police said. The same list was found in Borowiak’s backpack, which also contained a map to his aunt and uncle’s home and religious “artifacts” such as crosses, Bibles, charms and jewelry, police said. Religious and Satanic items also were found in the Warren trailer where Borowiak had been living.

Presenter: Ellen Lacter, Ph.D.

Synopsis: One of the most disturbing horrors described by survivors of extreme abuse is having been subjected to torture to coerce them, while being tortured, to harm or kill other victims. Many survivors describe clear memories of first being subjected this form of abuse as young children. The subsequent moral injury is devastating. This workshop will explain how specific torture methods predictably work to coerce victims to harm and kill others; the various psychological responses of victims while they are being coerced to harm others; and abuser methods to coerce victims to harm others outside of immediate torture. This workshop will assign all guilt, shame, and moral responsibility for coerced harm to the perpetrators who execute the torture and will work to help survivors stand in solidarity with other survivors of extreme abuse to do everything in their power to to overcome all self-condemnation for having been coerced through torture to harm other victims. Participants will be provided with a list of statements by the speaker and participants in the clinicians conference proclaiming the innocence of victims coerced to harm others under torture. Note: Survivors should carefully consider beforehand whether to attend this workshop as the material is extremely painful.

Understanding one’s internal system is critical to helping every internal part work together for true safety and healing. Often internal parts are at odds with each other (such as higher level alters, reporter alters, persecutor/protector alters, and other internal alters) because they are used to ‘doing their jobs” and following orders. But they are really allies in the system and can be helped to learn better and more effective ways to keep everyone in the system safe and help heal the system. The focus will be on how to communicate with parts who might seem particularly difficult to work with, learn to recognize their true gifts to the internal system, how to develop a community of mutual respect, and eventually lead the system to safety and wholeness.

Eileen Aveni, LMSW, LCSW, ACSW, BCD specializes in working with dissociative identity disorder with a focus on ritualized abuse and mind control. For almost 30 years she has worked alongside other major treatment specialists teaching and training clinicians and community groups on the major issues of these survivors and how to help and support them. She created and led an 8-year long-term therapy for DID/RA/MC survivors, and helped create and run a safe-house for RA/MC survivors for several years. She regularly presents and consults nationally and internationally. She was the 2016 Chair of the Ritual Abuse and Mind Control Special Interest Group, a division of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Survivorship, a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, the National Center for Crisis Management, and is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work.

For Those Who Condemn Themselves for Acts Coerced Under Torture
Presenter: Ellen Lacter, Ph.D.
Synopsis: One of the most disturbing horrors described by survivors of extreme abuse is having been subjected to torture to coerce them, while being tortured, to harm or kill other victims. Many survivors describe clear memories of first being subjected to this form of abuse as young children. The subsequent moral injury is devastating. This workshop will educate therapists about the methods of torture that predictably work to coerce victims to harm and kill others; the various psychological responses of victims while they are being coerced to harm others; abuser methods to coerce victims to harm others outside of immediate torture, and how to work with survivors and their self-states to overcome the consequent moral injury, including specific things to say that the speaker has found can make a difference and developing more of these together with participants in this workshop.

Ethics, the Community Standard, and the Credibility of Ritual Abuse Allegations

Synopsis: To what extent do mental health and other helping professionals believe the stories of ritual abuse survivors? This presentation systematically reviews the empirical research on the credibility of ritual abuse allegations. After presenting the findings there will be a discussion that welcomes the opinions of the attendees regarding their own conclusions including considerations of the community standard, professional ethics, related forensic questions, and advocacy for extreme abuse survivors.

Introduction to Using Sensorimotor Psychotherapy with Clients with DID
Presenter: Cynthia Henrie, MFT
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a body-oriented, talking therapy developed in the 1980s by Pat Ogden, informed by the work of Ron Kurtz (1990) and the Rolf Method of Structural Integration (Rolf 1987) and enriched by the contributions from the fields of attachment, neuroscience, and dissociation. Sensorimotor Psychotherapy blends cognitive and emotional approaches, verbal dialogue, and physical interventions that directly address the implicit memories and neurobiological effects of trauma. By using bodily experience as a primary entry point in trauma therapy, rather than the events or the “story,” we attend to how the body is processing information, and its interface with emotions and cognitive meaning-making. A Sensorimotor Psychotherapy approach is a useful tool in the work of treating survivors of ritual abuse, mind control and Dissociative Identity Disorder. When used mindfully, Sensorimotor Skills can aid in building a sense of safety and “belonging” within one’s own body. It can help inform both the client and clinician of different alter experiences in their own physical space, and is a useful approach that aids in resolving traumatic experiences, decreasing dissociation and grieving developmental wounding in an individual’s life experience. This is an introduction to the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy approach and some of the ways it can be useful in the treatment of Dissociative Disorders and survivors.

Cynthia Henrie, MFT, is a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, a Feminist Therapist and specializes in the treatment of trauma and dissociation. Ms. Henrie is the founder and director of the Los Angeles Therapy Network, a network of private practice therapists whose mission is to help women through feminist empowerment, trauma survivors, persons with Dissociative Identity Disorder, LGBTQIA issues, rape/sexual assault, human trafficking/slavery and torture. Ms. Henrie graduated from Antioch University with her MA in Clinical Psychology with a Focus on Adolescence & Feminist Therapy. She is trained in the treatment of trauma and dissociation through the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, is a Level II EMDR Practitioner and has completed two years of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which focuses on the treatment of trauma and developmental attachment problems. She is also Sandplay Practitioner. Ms. Henrie is the cofounder of the Los Angeles Dissociative Disorder Study Group, along with Randy Noblitt, PhD which is held at Alliant University.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Presenter: Jillian Jackson
CPT Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is short-term, specific 12 session therapeutic intervention to help adults address specific life events associated with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It was originally designed to assist victims of rape and it has been widely used within the Veterans Administration to assist combat veterans address PTSD. Clinicians are now using this evidence-based practice to help individuals who struggle with a continuum of traumas. CPT is a derivate of the more widely known Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Research demonstrates that CPT is effective in reducing the symptoms associated with PTSD. In this workshop, participants will learn the history of CPT, determine who is an appropriate candidate for the intervention, and how CPT is administered. The workshop will also highlight the research supporting this intervention and discuss it’s outcomes.

This workshop will provide a primer introduction to various modalities that are available and also highlight why it is vital for a process of healing and transformation to be tailored to each individual’s needs and experience.

Manjot Singh Khalsa is the creator of a Kundalini Yoga and Meditation curriculum, “Be Here Now: Yoga, Meditation & Mantra for Trauma Survivors.” In today’s experiential workshop, participants will have the opportunity to stretch, breathe, strengthen and rest in a safe space. No previous yoga experience necessary. Participants will choose to sit in a chair or on the floor during this workshop.

Changes in Awareness of Severe Abuse and Child Abuse Crimes Over Twenty Five Years Presenter: Neil Brick
The awareness of severe abuse and child abuse crimes has changed over the last 25 years. In the early 1990s, severe abuse survivors were often believed and supported. Then a backlash started and severe abuse survivors and their supporters were harassed and attacked. The child abuse survivor movement changed and adapted. Ten years ago, research began again to help expose severe abuse crimes. More recently, first in the UK and Australia and now in the United States, a variety of child abuse, severe abuse, sexual harassment and rape cases are bringing public awareness again to the mainstream media of severe abuse crimes. This presentation will discuss the changes of the last 25 years, with an emphasis on the more recent exposures of organized child abuse crimes and social systems that have been part of the cover up of these crimes.
