Convicted abuser and ex-gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar stabbed in prison – report by Edwin Rios July 10, 2023

Larry Nassar, the former Michigan State University and USA Gymnastics doctor who was convicted of decades of abuse of women and girls under the guise of medical treatment, was reportedly stabbed at a federal prison in Florida on Sunday....

In 2018, in an end to the biggest sexual abuse scandals in US sports history, hundreds of women and girls gave victim impact statements against Nassar, detailing allegations of abuse as far back as the 1990s.

Several athletes, including the Olympians Jordyn Wieber, Aly Raisman and McKayla Maroney, testified that they relayed allegations to coaches, trainers and others which were not reported to authorities.

More than 100 women, including the Olympian Simone Biles, sued the US government for more than $1bn over the FBI’s failure to take action after learning of allegations against Nassar in 2015. That inaction allowed Nassar to continue to abuse women and girls for more than a year before he pleaded guilty in 2017.

Michigan State University, whose president, Lou Anna Simon, and athletic director, Mark Hollis, resigned amid fallout from the scandal, agreed a $500m settlement with more than 300 women and girls, a sum far larger than the $60m Penn State University paid to victims of the former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

MSU had been accused of ignoring and failing to act to stop Nassar during his decades of abuse.
USA Gymnastics and the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee agreed a $380m settlement with more than 500 women and girls.
In 2018, a judge in Michigan sentenced Nassar to more than 175 years in prison..... https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/convicted-abuser-and-ex-gymnastics-doctor-larry-nassar-stabbed-in-prison-report/ar-AA1dFU1a

Simone Biles and others to sue FBI for $1bn over Larry Nassar investigation
Published 8 June 2022 By Holly Honderich BBC News, Washington

Women who say they were sexually assaulted by a disgraced US national gymnastics team doctor plan to sue the FBI for $1bn (£800m).
Claimants say the FBI mishandled credible complaints of sexual assaults by Larry Nassar.
They include Olympic gymnastics gold medallists Simone Biles, Aly Raisman and McKayla Maroney.

Nassar is serving up to 175 years in prison for molesting gymnasts.
The agency's own watchdog found the FBI disregarded allegations about Nassar and made early errors in its investigation.

Last year, a long-awaited report from the US justice department's Office of the Inspector General gave a scathing assessment of the federal agency's investigation into Nassar.
Various missteps and cover-ups by FBI agents allowed Nassar's abuse to continue for more than a year after the case was first opened in 2015, the report found.

The majority of claimants in these suits say Nassar assaulted them after his abuse was reported to the FBI in 2015. Most were athletes with the USA Gymnastics programme or with Michigan State University, where Nassar maintained a clinic. The FBI field office Nassar's abuse was reported to took limited action and did not document any investigation or alert other authorities.

"My fellow survivors and I were betrayed by every institution that was supposed to protect us - the US Olympic Committee, USA Gymnastics, the FBI and now the Department of Justice," McKayla Maroney, an Olympic gold medallist, said in a statement.
"It is clear that the only path to justice and healing is through the legal process."
Two weeks ago, the US Justice Department decided not to prosecute the two FBI agents accused of mishandling the investigation. The plaintiffs are seeking different amounts in damages but their total claims are expected to exceed $1bn.

The Collective Administrative Claims are being filed under the Federal Tort Claims Act, which allows people who have been harmed by negligent or wrongful actions of the federal government to seek compensation.
Under federal law, the FBI has six months to respond to the claims. Lawsuits may follow, depending on the FBI's response. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-61735319

The clergy sexual abuse crisis at forty with 100 bishops out of office

Gilbert Gauthe’s case, back in July 1983, marks the beginning of the sexual abuse crisis; we reach its 40th anniversary with no end on sight
English Edition Rodolfo Soriano-Núñez Sábado, 01 Julio, 2023

On the 40th anniversary of the sexual abuse crisis, Bishop Richard Stika of Knoxville, Tennessee, is the 100th bishop forced to resign.

Religion and public life: Jason Berry and Richard Sipe provided two key elements to understan the clergy sexual abuse crisis an accountability-centered-narrative and the so-called scarlet bond.

Sometime in July of 1983, then priest Gilbert Gauthe was relieved from his duties at the St. John parish in the Lafayette diocese in Louisiana. His dismissal, accurately depicted by Jason Berry in a series of stories published in 1985 started what we now see as the 40-year long crisis of sexual abuse in the Catholic Church.

For the last four decades a deluge of news about sexual predator priests has been inundating news outlets all over the world. In all its misery, the crisis has helped make the global public opinion aware of the crisis in the Catholic Church, in other religious organizations, and in many other institutions and settings....

If Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward proved how “the most powerful man in the world” could be forced out of office by the media, Jason Berry and his colleagues in news outlets all over the world have played a role in forcing out of office at least 100 Catholic bishops and countless priests, because of their role in the sexual abuse crisis.

Thanks to Berry and those who followed him, like the journalists at The Boston Globe’s Spotlight team, a narrative on the need to make clergy accountable of their behavior took hold.

Changes in Awareness of Severe Abuse and Child Abuse Crimes Over Twenty Five Years - Neil Brick

Changes in Awareness of Severe Abuse and Child Abuse Crimes Over Twenty Five Years

Presenter: Neil Brick

The awareness of severe abuse and child abuse crimes has changed over the last 25 years. In the early 1990s, severe abuse survivors were often believed and supported. Then a backlash started and severe abuse survivors and their supporters were harassed and attacked. The child abuse survivor movement changed and adapted. Ten years ago, research began again to help expose severe abuse crimes. More recently, first in the UK and Australia and now in the United States, a variety of child abuse, severe abuse, sexual harassment and rape cases are bringing public awareness again to the mainstream media of severe abuse crimes. This presentation will discuss the changes of the last 25 years, with an emphasis on the more recent exposures of organized child abuse crimes and social systems that have been part of the cover up of these crimes.

Neil Brick is a survivor of ritual abuse and mind control. His work continues to educate the public about child abuse, trauma and ritual abuse crimes. His child abuse and ritual abuse newsletter S.M.A.R.T. https://ritualabuse.us has been published for over 22 years. His research articles are at http://neilbrick.com

Disclaimer: This presentation is solely my own thoughts and research and not necessarily the thoughts or any other persons or groups I work with. This information is not intended as treatment or therapy. Survivors may want to use caution while reading this page. All accusations are alleged.

In the 1980’s several severe child abuse cases became publicly known. The largest case was the McMartin Preschool Case. At the same time, there was already an organized backlash against survivors which later developed into more powerful backlash movements like the FMSF.

Up until the early 1990’s, both sides of the issue of child abuse crimes, our side and the backlash side, were at times presented equally. This is shown in newspapers like the New York Times.

On my website at https://ritualabuse.us

There is a large page called the McMartin Preschool Case – What Really Happened and the Coverup. https://ritualabuse.us/ritualabuse/articles/mcmartin-preschool-case-what-really-happened-and-the-coverup/

This page repeatedly shows evidence of guilt in this case. At the time, it was one of the longest cases in legal history. There were split juries and in one trial a majority of jurors believed the children were abused. Tunnels were found backing up the children’s stories.

Sadly, this case was repeatedly spun in the media as some sort of panic. Without examination or balance, the media has presented only the backlash side of the story and not ours. Evidence showing abuse was repeatedly ignored. A good example is Wikipedia, where repeated efforts were made to balance the child abuse and day care pages of the 1980’s and 1990’s without success. These pages primarily present only the backlash side of the story. Those attempting to balance these pages with research were silenced or banned by Wikipedia editors.

In the late 1980’s, with Survivorship starting and other groups following after, the topic of ritual abuse was increasingly discussed. This culminated in 1992 with a lecture by D.C. Hammond, originally entitled “Hypnosis in MPD: Ritual Abuse,” but now usually known as the “Greenbaum Speech,” delivered at the Fourth Annual Eastern Regional Conference on Abuse and Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), Thursday June 25, 1992, at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia.

Dr. Hammond was and is a highly credentialed clinician. He presented scientific evidence discussing government mind control in detail http://whale.to/b/greenbaum.html

This page may be very heavy for survivors, it describes government mind control in detail. Dr. Hammond discussed how his work was corroborated by other clinicians. He talked about how he and others were very careful not to suggest information or lead clients.
Soon after this in 1993, the FMSF changed the landscape of the media discussion. What had been at times a balanced discussion, turned into a mostly one sided discussion of false memories and a lack off credibility of ritual abuse and government mind control crimes.

This topic is well research in an article in the Columbia Journalist Review July/August 1997 issue: Media Manipulation by False Memory Proponents U-Turn on Memory Lane by Mike Stanton http://web.archive.org/web/20071216011151/http://backissues.cjrarchives.org/year/97/4/memory.asp

“A study published last year by a University of Michigan sociologist, Katherine Beckett, found a sharp shift in how four leading magazines — Time, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, and People — treated sexual abuse. In 1991, more than 80 percent of the coverage was weighted toward stories of survivors, with recovered memory taken for granted and questionable therapy virtually ignored. By 1994, more than 80 percent of the coverage focused on false accusations, often involving supposedly false memory. Beckett credited the False Memory Syndrome Foundation with a major role in the change.”

“Rarely has such a strange and little-understood organization had such a profound effect on media coverage of such a controversial matter. The foundation is an aggressive, well-financed p.r. machine adept at manipulating the press, harassing its critics, and mobilizing a diverse army of psychiatrists, outspoken academics, expert defense witnesses, litigious lawyers, Freud bashers, critics of psychotherapy, and devastated parents. With a budget of $750,000 a year from members and outside supporters, the foundation’s reach far exceeds its actual membership of about 3,000.”

During the 1990s there are several documented cases of harassment against child abuse researchers and practitioners. Two well documented cases are David Calof and Anna Salter.

Calof, D.L. (1998). Notes from a practice under siege: Harassment, defamation, and intimidation in the name of science, Ethics and Behavior, 8(2) pp. 161-187. https://ritualabuse.us/research/memory-fms/notes-from-a-practice-under-siege/

Confessions of a Whistle-Blower: Lessons Learned by Anna C. Salter – Ethics & Behavior, Volume 8, Issue 2 June 1998 , pages 115 – 124 Abstract – In 1988 I began a report on the accuracy of expert testimony in child sexual abuse cases utilizing Ralph Underwager and Hollida Wakefield as a case study. “The argument between the field of child sexual abuse and the backlash against survivors is not an academic debate between two well meaning groups equally invested in ascertaining truth. It is not an academic debate at all; it is a political fight.” P. 121 “What wins political fights is organization and stamina and a refusal to be intimidated.” P. 122 https://ritualabuse.us/research/memory-fms/confessions-of-a-whistle-blower-lessons-learned/

Sadly, much of the child and ritual abuse field went underground due to this harassment after the mid 1990s, with little media help and often one side media attacks against child abuse survivors and their stories.

In 2001, an excellent book that received little attention was published. It was named

Secret Weapons – Two Sisters’ Terrifying True Story of Sex, Spies and Sabotage by Cheryl and Lynn Hersha with Dale Griffis, Ph D. and Ted Schwartz. New Horizon Press

Is a well-documented, verifiable account of not one, but two childrens’ long untold stories of being CHILD subjects of Project MKUltra. Quotes from the book: “By the time Cheryl Hersha came to the facility, knowledge of multiple personality was so complete that doctors understood how the mind separated into distinct ego states, each unaware of the other. First, the person traumatized had to be both extremely intelligent and under the age of seven, two conditions not yet understood though remaining consistent as factors.

The trauma was almost always of a sexual nature…” p. 52 “The government researchers, aware of the information in the professional journals, decided to reverse the process (of healing from hysteric dissociation). They decided to use selective trauma on healthy children to create personalities capable of committing acts desired for national security and defense.” p. 53 – 54 The book also contains a variety of documents on mk-ultra and different projects as well as reports to the Presidential Committee on Radiation and Mind Control, including information on the five Canadians’ lawsuit against the U.S. Government. http://www.abebooks.com/book-search/author/lynn-hersha-dale-griffis-ted-schwarz/

In 2008, there was a worldwide survey of ritual abuse and mind control survivors. This study has been reproduced in both English and German.

The Extreme Abuse Survey final results are online with findings, questionnaires and presentations for download as pdf-files. More than 750 pages of documentation http://extreme-abuse-survey.net/
Understanding ritual trauma: A comparison of findings from three online surveys – Handout for Karriker, Wanda. (2008, November). Understanding ritual trauma: A comparison of findings from three online surveys. Paper presented at the meeting of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, Chicago, IL.

10 Extreme Abuse Survey Findings Helpful to Understanding Ritual Trauma

1. Ritual abuse/mind control (RA/MC) is a global phenomenon.
2. A diagnosis of Dissociative Identity Disorder is common for persons who report histories of
RA/MC. (84% of EAS respondents who answered that they have been diagnosed with DID [N=655] reported that they are survivors of RA/MC).
3. Ritual abuse (RA) is not limited to SRA, i.e., satanic ritual abuse, sadistic abuse, satanist abuse.
4. RA is reported to involve mind control techniques.
5. Some extreme abuse survivors report that they were used in government-sponsored mind control experimentation (GMC).
6. RA/MC is reported to be involved in organized “known” crime.
7. RA/MC is reported to be involved in clergy abuse.
8. Most often reported memories of extreme abuse are similar across all surveys.
9. Most often reported possible aftereffects of extreme abuse are similar across all surveys.
10. In rating the effectiveness of healing methods, therapists tend to favor stabilization techniques; survivors are more open to alternative ways to cope with indoctrinated belief systems.

MEDIA PACKET – Torture-based, Government-sponsored Mind Control Experimentation on Children – Documentation that torture-based, government-sponsored mind control (GMC) experimentation was conducted on children during the Cold War. Data from two international surveys that give voice, visibility, and validation to survivors of these crimes against humanity. (Page may be heavy for survivors.) http://my.dmci.net/~casey/GovernmentSponsoredMindControlExperiments-MediaPacket.pdf

You can probably predict what happened. Efforts made to make the research public mostly failed. The research was removed from Wikipedia and another major wiki. Most articles written about the research attacked it. One good pro-survivor source about the research is at: http://childabusewiki.org/index.php?title=Extreme_Abuse_Surveys

In 2009, a new type of harassment began.

This harassment included people sneaking into ritual abuse conferences, insulting survivors publicly, harassing survivors and clinicians in their personal lives by contacting clinicians’ employers and writing their licensing boards.

Grey Faction, Satanic Temple and Lucien Greaves Fact Sheet:
https://ritualabuse.us/ritualabuse/grey-faction-satanic-temple-and-lucien-greaves-fact-sheet/

For almost a decade Douglas Misicko using aliases (including Douglas Mesner and Lucien Greaves) has harassed groups helping child abuse, rape and trauma survivors. He has also harassed groups providing research in support of child abuse, rape and trauma survivors.

In 2013, he and others created a group called the Satanic Temple. One part of this group is called the Grey Faction. The Grey Faction states they “invade” conferences. These conferences are provided to help and educate child abuse, rape and trauma survivors and their helpers.

Their representatives that invade these conferences misrepresent their reasons for attending these conferences. They film people at these conferences without permission and publish these films without the permission of those filmed. The Grey Faction repeatedly misrepresents the research and statements of the people at these conferences. It uses repeated ad hominem attacks against child abuse and trauma researchers without rebutting their research or stories.
His organization uses propaganda techniques in its articles, movies and social media pages to manipulate readers’ opinions. They continue to repeat inaccurate information, even though it has been clearly rebutted in several of the articles listed below.

Douglas Mesner/Lucien Greaves has continued using insults and attacks against survivors of ritual abuse and the professionals that work with them. He has harassed and followed survivors and survivor advocates around the Internet for several years.

This page is a synopsis of critiques of the Grey Faction’s misinformation. Additional links have been added rebutting their statements about trauma, abuse and dissociation. It also contains information critiquing The Satanic Temple and Douglas Mesner/Lucien Greaves.

The Urban Legends of Those Attacking Ritual Abuse Theories and the False Logic of False Memory Proponents and Their Occultist Supporters – Presentation by Neil Brick
https://ritualabuse.us/smart-conference/2016-conference/the-urban-legends-of-those-attacking-ritual-abuse-theories/

“My license to practice therapy has been threatened with filed licensing complaints by people connected to a group called the Grey Faction, a part of the Satanic Temple. My job as a therapist has nothing to do with my advocacy efforts to stop child abuse and I have very clear professional and private boundaries that I maintain to ensure this continues to occur. Yet, the Grey Faction associates keep harassing me and others in the field. These attacks are factually inaccurate and meritless.”

“I believe that the work of the Grey Faction is meant to purposefully dehumanize and insult ideological opponents, so our ideas are derided and not believed.”

Reply to the Satanic Temple’s Grey Faction online guest post
https://ritualabuse.us/ritualabuse/reply-to-the-satanic-temples-grey-faction-online-guest-post/

“In conclusion, the guest post by the Satanic Temple’s Grey Faction criticizes the strong research and theories of ritual abuse survivors and those with years of research, experience and education in the trauma field. (The members of the Grey Faction have unknown credentials and may not have the experience to accurately determine trauma theory and research.) The guest post by the Satanic Temple’s Grey Faction presents inaccurate arguments, which are refuted in this article.”

“The Grey Faction claims they are combating pseudoscience with rational inquiry, but this rational inquiry is actually predetermined opinion, bolstered by name calling, ad hominem attacks and insults. There is no real rational inquiry because there is no evidence that all of the facts were looked at neutrally to derive a conclusion. It appears the only facts considered were the ones that back their arguments. In its articles, the Grey Faction hides behind the name of science and rationality, when in reality it appears it is an advocacy organization used to discredit ritual abuse survivors realities’ and their resources.”

Reply to the Grey Faction’s Petition to Revoke the License of Neil Brick
https://ritualabuse.us/ritualabuse/reply-to-the-grey-factions-petition-to-revoke-the-license-of-neil-brick/

“The petition states that The Allied Board of Health Professionals licensure division, having previously received a complaint…did nothing. The fact is that no violations were found and no disciplinary actions were taken (against Neil Brick after a one year investigation). We believe that this new letter is part of the continued actions of harassment against Neil Brick and those that help child and ritual abuse survivors.”

“The (Grey Faction) petition states “While we are not privy to records that indicate methods of treatment employed in Neil Brick’s practice.”….There is no evidence there are any problems with any methods of treatment Neil uses.”

(Note: The Grey Faction continues to publish misinformation regarding Neil Brick in continued ad hominem attacks on his research.)

Instead of rebutting the research of child and ritual abuse survivors, the tactic is to attack the people directly, calling them paranoid, delusional and so on without factual evidence of this.

In my opinion, the argument boils down to this:
We don’t believe them, therefore they are delusional.

Few stories or pro-survivor facts are rebutted. Few real facts are presented to rebut any of our data. Protests are staged outside of conferences to further disrupt conferences that help trauma victims.

To quote Anna Salter:
“The argument between the field of child sexual abuse and the backlash against survivors is not an academic debate between two well meaning groups equally invested in ascertaining truth. It is not an academic debate at all; it is a political fight.” “What wins political fights is organization and stamina and a refusal to be intimidated.”

The Good News

Even though our work is being marginalized in the media and we are being viciously attacked on the Internet, there have been many child abuse coverups that have been exposed over the last few years.

Jimmy Savile

Though he died before his story came out, a major famous British figure in their music industry was exposed as having hundreds of victims and was allegedly protected from prosecution.

Jimmy Savile: timeline of his sexual abuse and its uncovering
Investigators now believe the late Top of the Pops host preyed on around 500 vulnerable victims as young as two years old.

It is now known that Jimmy Savile sexually abused hundreds of children and women at the height of his fame.

Investigators believe the late Top of the Pops host preyed on around 500 vulnerable victims as young as two years old at institutions including the BBC’s broadcasting studios, 14 hospitals and 20 children’s hospitals across England.

Since his death in October 2011, a string of official inquiries have been launched into his offending at hospitals, schools and the BBC.
Today an independent inquiry found that Savile abused 60 people, including at least 33 patients aged from five to 75, at Leeds general infirmary. Other hospitals have also released the results of their Savile investigations….

October 2013: BBC asks Dame Janet Smith to investigate the culture and practices of the BBC in the decades that Savile worked there.
11 January, 2013: Scotland Yard labels Savile a “prolific, predatory” sex offender after its investigation reveals 214 criminal offences across 28 police forces, between 1955 and 2009. Its report, Giving Victims a Voice, found that 73% of his victims were children, and the allegations of abuse span 14 medical establishments.

Catholic Church

Collated USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops)Data
On the Number of U.S. Priests Accused of Sexually Abusing Children and the Numbers of Persons Alleging Abuse

1950–2016
Compiled by BishopAccountability.org

From reports commissioned and released by the USCCB
Updated June 30, 2017

As of May 30, 2017, information published by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) indicates that the conference has counted 6,721 clerics “not implausibly” and “credibly” accused of sexually abusing minors in the period 1950 through June 30, 2016, with several gaps in the USCCB data. Out of the 116,690 priests who have worked in those years, the 6,721 priests accused of abusing children are 5.8% of the total.

This percentage is a useful corrective. As recently as November 2002, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, then in charge of all abuse cases for the Vatican, said in an interview that in the United States “less than 1% of priests are guilty of acts of this type.” Meanwhile, in the few US dioceses where investigations or disclosures have provided adequate data, including Boston, we are seeing rates as high as 10 percent. If that is ultimately found to be the percentage nationally, the US total would rise to 11,669 priests accused of abuse.

As of May 30, 2017, the USCCB has counted 18,565 victims who are known to the bishops in the period 1950 through June 30, 2016. Many more survivors have yet to come forward. In 1993, the late Fr. Andrew Greeley estimated that 2,500 priests (fewer than half the USCCB’s current total) might have molested “well in excess of 100,000” children in the United States…..

The USCCB hired the John Jay College of Criminal Justice to evaluate data submitted by member bishops regarding the sexual abuse of minors by Catholic priests, bishops, deacons, and seminarians. In its 2004 report, the John Jay College found, according to survey forms completed by the bishops, that the bishops had received in 1950-2002 “not implausible” allegations of sexual abuse of 10,667 minors committed by 4,392 priests, including 12 bishops.

The John Jay College report also provides an estimate of the number of priests who worked in the United States 1950-2002. The surveys collected for the project reported 75,694 diocesan priests and approximately 34,000 religious priests, for a total of 109,694. In the years 2003-2016, the Catholic church has ordained 6,996 men to the priesthood, according to the Official Catholic Directory’s General Summary of diocesan data. That brings the total number of priests in 1950-2016 to 116,690.

A recent case is that of Larry Nassar, a doctor who treated young Olympic athletes.

Larry Nassar sentenced to up to 175 years in prison for decades of sexual abuse

(CNN)Once a world-renowned sports physician treating America’s foremost Olympic women gymnasts, Larry Nassar now will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

The disgraced former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University doctor was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison, a judge announced Wednesday, after more than 150 women and girls said in court that he sexually abused them over the past two decades….
Nassar had pleaded guilty to seven counts of criminal sexual conduct in Ingham County in Michigan and admitted to using his trusted medical position to assault and molest girls under the guise of medical treatment….

“There are no words that can describe the depth and breadth of how sorry I am for what has occurred,” Nassar said. “An acceptable apology to all of you is impossible to write and convey. I will carry your words with me for the rest of my days.”….

“I was a good doctor because my treatments worked, and those patients that are now speaking out are the same ones that praised and came back over and over,” Nassar wrote. “The media convinced them that everything I did was wrong and bad. They feel I broke their trust.”….
Many of the women said that when they spoke up about the treatment, they were ignored or their concerns brushed aside by organizations in power, primarily USA Gymnastics, Michigan State University and the US Olympic Committee….

Michigan State’s $500 Million for Nassar Victims Dwarfs Other Settlements

Lawrence G. Nassar, the sports doctor accused of sexually abusing hundreds of young women, committed his crimes with impunity for decades. Here’s how.

Victims of Lawrence G. Nassar, the Michigan State University physician who sexually abused young women under the guise of medical treatment, would receive $500 million from the university in a settlement that is believed to be the largest ever reached in a sexual abuse case involving an American university.

It dwarfed the size of the settlement reached in the sex abuse scandal at Pennsylvania State University. And it was larger than many of the settlements that followed the child sex abuse crisis in the Roman Catholic Church.

“I think the number being so large sends a message that is undeniable, that something really terrible happened here and that Michigan State owns it,” said John Manly, a lawyer for many of the 332 women who sued the university over abuse by Dr. Nassar. “When you pay half a billion dollars, it’s an admission of responsibility.”

Women who say they were abused by Dr. Nassar still have lawsuits against U.S.A. Gymnastics, the United States Olympic Committee and others, and the settlement with Michigan State could add pressure in those cases. The settlement by Michigan State, a public university that is the state’s largest, also sent a loud warning to other colleges about the potentially devastating cost of ignoring misconduct.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/16/us/larry-nassar-michigan-state-settlement.html

These three cases are only a few of the many cases where perpetrators were allowed to abuse children for years without any repercussions. These perpetrators in essence were allowed to continue abusing children because no one believed their victims. The system failed the victims.

Our Future

We have not received justice for the crimes perpetrated against us as child abuse survivors. The opposite has occurred. We have been attacked for speaking up. Our stories, our evidence and our research has been belittled, insulted, ignored and hidden. Not only have we spoken up about child and ritual abuse crimes, we have spoken out about how individuals and our society are controlled by propaganda, mind control and post hypnotic suggestion. We have discussed how for years individuals and groups have been allowed to torture and sexually abuse children.

The hope is that justice will occur. That we will be heard and those that have attacked us will be exposed for their vicious tactics and their misinformation. That society will regain its moral balance and people will treat others fairly and decently and those that are being abused will be heard and believed and that this abuse will stop.

Three siblings murdered their elderly mother after gouging out her eyes and cutting out her intestines in a horrific satanic ritual, police claim.
The mutilated body of Teodora Quispe Ccayllahua, 75, was found by police after one of her children allegedly claimed the "master of darkness" ordered the killing.

The trip is accused of dumping the pensioner's remains in a pond and bathing in her blood.
The victim's youngest child allegedly told detectives that she was "chosen" to carry out the sacrifice during a strange dream and convinced her two siblings to murder their mother....

Larry Nassar Set To Appeal Sexual Abuse Case Sentence
By Scooby Axson July 25, 2018
Attorneys for convicted sex abuser Larry Nassar filed two motions challenging the sentence he received earlier this year for sexual assault, according to multiple media reports.
A notice of hearings is scheduled for August 22, according to the report.

Nassar, a former Michigan State and USA gymnastics doctor, was sentenced up to 175 years on Michigan state charges of sexual assault, to go along with a sentence of 40 to 125 years in prison on three counts of sexual assault. He also recieved a 60–year sentence on federal child-pornography charges.

Nassar’s state appellate defense attorneys filed the motions in Ingham County Court in Michigan and want Nassar's sentence thrown out so he can be re-sentenced.

His attorneys also want Judge Rosemarie Aquilina to be removed from the case, calling her an "admittedly not an unbiased and impartial judge."....

More than 300 women have said they were sexually assaulted by Nassar, including 156 women and girls who give victim-impact statements during the sentencing phase of his trial in Ingham County.

Michigan State has agreed to pay out $500 million in settlements Nassar abuse victims and multiple victims have sued Nassar, alleging that USA Gymnastics failed to act on the abuse claims and failed to notify the U.S. Olympic Committee, Michigan State University, and law enforcement....

Seagram’s Liquor Heiress Charged in Nxivm Sex-Trafficking Case
By Sean Piccoli July 24, 2018
Clare Bronfman, an heiress to the Seagram’s liquor fortune, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday in federal court in Brooklyn after her arrest on conspiracy and racketeering charges in connection with her role at Nxivm, a self-help group that prosecutors call a pyramid scheme and former members say is a cult.

Ms. Bronfman was one of four people arrested in New York State on Tuesday after the unsealing of an updated seven-count indictment against Keith Raniere, leader of the now defunct-group, and five others in his “inner circle,” federal prosecutors said in the indictment.
Mr. Raniere, 57, was arrested earlier this year in Mexico and brought to New York to face federal sex-trafficking charges. Prosecutors said he and one of his followers, Allison Mack, 35, an actress known for her work in “Smallville,” coerced female members to have unwanted sex with him and branded them with a symbol containing his initials. Mr. Raniere is being held without bail in Brooklyn to await trial....

Past defenders — including Ms. Bronfman, in an internet post last year — called the group a dynamic self-improvement and fellowship organization. But prosecutors maintain it was a moneymaking criminal enterprise that relied on theft, intimidation and coercion to stay afloat, even as it forced some recruits into sexual slavery.
The updated indictment charges the six defendants with money laundering, extortion, obstruction of justice, forced labor, sex trafficking, identity theft and harboring of undocumented immigrants.....

Neil Brick Conference Presentation 2018 – Changes in Awareness of Severe Abuse and Child Abuse Crimes Over Twenty Five Years

Neil Brick Conference Presentation 2018

On my website at https://ritualabuse.us
There is a large page called the McMartin Preschool Case – What Really Happened and the Coverup. https://ritualabuse.us/ritualabuse/articles/mcmartin-preschool-case-what-really-happened-and-the-coverup/ This page repeatedly shows evidence of guilt in this case.

Investigators now believe the late Top of the Pops host preyed on around 500 vulnerable victims as young as two years old
It is now known that Jimmy Savile sexually abused hundreds of children and women at the height of his fame.

Woody Allen Child Abuse Allegations, Larry Nassar: 265 young women say they were abused by former USA Gymnastic doctor

Woody Allen, Mia Farrow, Dylan Farrow: A Timeline

A look at major events in the complicated history of Mr. Allen and the Farrow family.
By Sopan Deb and Deborah Leiderman
Jan. 31, 2018

Woody Allen is facing new criticism — including from some actors in his films — over allegations by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow that he molested her in 1992 when she was a child. The Allen-Farrow story has its roots in the 1970s and encompasses several major events in the lives of Mr. Allen; his former partner Mia Farrow; and their daughter Dylan....

December 1991
Mr. Allen adopts Dylan Farrow and Moses Farrow, one of Ms. Farrow’s sons, who she adopted in 1980. Mr. Allen, who is 56, begins an affair with Ms. Farrow’s 21-year-old daughter, Soon-Yi Previn around this time.

Jan. 13, 1992
Ms. Farrow discovers nude photographs of Soon-Yi Previn in Mr. Allen’s apartment. He later testifies in court that he thought the affair would remain secret....
March 18, 1993

After a seven-month inquiry by a team of child abuse investigators at Yale-New Haven hospital, Mr. Allen’s lawyers say he has been cleared of molesting Dylan Farrow. Ms. Farrow’s legal team calls the confidential report “incomplete and inaccurate.” The report, which was commissioned by Connecticut law enforcement, was never officially released, but media outlets reported some of its contents....

June 7, 1993
Mr. Allen loses the custody battle. Acting Justice Elliott Wilk of the State Supreme Court says Mr. Allen is “self-absorbed, untrustworthy and insensitive.” He denies Mr. Allen visitation rights with Dylan Farrow.

Sept. 24, 1993

Frank Maco, a state’s attorney in Connecticut, announces that while he has “probable cause” to prosecute Mr. Allen, he would decline to press charges to spare Dylan Farrow the trauma of a trial. Mr. Maco says he believed that Dylan had been molested....

October 2017
The New York Times, and then Ronan Farrow in The New Yorker, publish stories about sexual harassment, abuse and rape allegations against Harvey Weinstein.

Mr. Allen says he feels “sad for Harvey” and warns against “a witch hunt atmosphere.” He later calls Mr. Weinstein “a sad, sick man.”....

Larry Nassar latest: 265 young women say they were abused by former USA Gymnastic doctor, judge says

It was previously believed the total number of victims was closer to 200

More than 265 people have come forward to say they were sexually abused by the disgraced former gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, a judge has said.

As Nassar’s third sentencing hearing got underway on Wednesday in Eaton County, Michigan, Judge Janice Cunningham said dozens of women and girls were expected to deliver statements in court. “Some of the victims have chosen not to be identified,” she said.

During a seven-day hearing that concluded last week in nearby Ingham County, more than 150 young women delivered powerful statements confronting Nassar and telling him of the devastating impact he had on their lives.....
As the hearing continued, it was reported that the entire board of directors of USA Gymnastics, which Nassar served as a team doctor for 20 years, had stood down after being told they would otherwise be fired.

Last week, Nassar was sentenced to between 40 to 175 years in prison when he appeared before Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Aquilina....

Around 140 victims have filed a lawsuit against Nassar, USA Gymnastics (USAG) and Michigan State University (MSU), claiming the institutions knew about allegations of abuse years ago and failed to act.

USAG said last week after Olympic officials threatened to decertify the organisation as the sport’s US governing body that its entire board had resigned and sponsors have already backed away ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games.

The United States Olympic Committee, which has been criticised by victims as well, has announced an independent investigation into both its own conduct and that of USAG.
The Michigan attorney general’s office, which prosecuted Nassar, is pursuing a criminal probe into the college over its handling of allegations against Nassar. The university’s president and athletic director stepped down in the wake of Nassar’s sentencing last week....

Larry Nassar sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison in sexual assault cases

Larry Nassar sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison in sexual assault cases
Tom Schad, USA TODAY Jan. 24, 2018

Former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison on Wednesday in Ingham County Circuit Court in Michigan....
Nassar received his sentence after listening to 156 victim-impact statements over seven days, including powerful statements from Olympic medalists Aly Raisman and Jordyn Wieber, among others.
Nassar, who was also previously employed by Michigan State University, pleaded guilty to 10 charges of sexual assault in November split between two counties, including seven in Ingham County. His sentencing in Eaton County, where he faces the other three charges, is scheduled to begin Jan. 31.
Nassar's plea agreement had set the low end of his sentence at 25-40 years in prison, with a maximum sentence of life in prison. The agreement also provided that women and girls abused by Nassar be given the chance to deliver victim-impact statements, if they wished to do so....
More than 150 seized that opportunity, speaking directly to Nassar in Aquilina’s courtroom. Roughly two dozen other victim-impact statements were submitted directly to the court, Michigan assistant attorney general Angela Povilaitis said.....
The 54-year-old Nassar was also sentenced last month to serve 60 years in prison on federal child pornography charges, which, with Wednesday's sentence, ensures that he will spend the rest of his life in prison.

As sentencing hearing draws toward close, women tell Nassar they are 'taking back' their lives
Matt Mencarini, Lansing State Journal Jan. 23, 2018

LANSING – After 153 victim-impact statements and six days, Larry Nassar's sentencing hearing is nearing an end.
On Tuesday, Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Aquilina confirmed with prosecutors that they planned for three more impact statements Wednesday before moving on to the next phase, in which Nassar will learn his sentence.
However, at the start of each day, the Michigan Attorney General's Office, which prosecuted Nassar, has updated the total number of expected impact statements. What began as 88 speakers 11 days ago was at 158 on Tuesday morning, although several had not shown up before court recessed for the day....
As Nassar's sentencing hearing drew national attention, more and more women and girls reached out and wanted to speak.
Through those statements — most in person, but some through video or letters read by prosecutors — themes began to emerge.
There’s the trauma: Nightmares, PTSD, loss of trust and self-worth, loss of voice and suicidal thoughts.
There’s the abuse: Hundreds of instances of being sexually assaulted, digitally penetrated with Nassar’s ungloved hand, sometimes in an exam room, sometimes in the back room of Twistars gymnastics club, sometimes in his home and at least one in a supply closet.
And there’s triumph: Succeeding despite the abuse and trauma, but also reclaiming what Nassar took....
Nassar worked for Michigan State University and with USA Gymnastics for decades. Many of the women and girls who spoke these last two weeks said Nassar abused them at MSU or at USA Gymnastics sanctioned events or gyms.
Those organizations drew harsh criticism from many of the women and girls who spoke. They said MSU and USA Gymnastics, among others, failed to protect them from Nassar and continue avoid taking responsibility for enabling him....

A look at the lives of 13 siblings held captive in a house full of chains — and what comes next

California parents plead not guilty to torture of 13 children
What started as neglect, officials said, became dangerous and pervasive child abuse over the years.
If they misbehaved, the 13 siblings living in a Southern California home would be tied to their beds as punishment — first with ropes, until a child whose limbs were strung together was able to wriggle free. Then, the parents began using chains and padlocks, officials said.
Over time, the periods in which the siblings were confined grew longer, and they would not be released to use the bathroom, officials said....
These disturbing living conditions for years went undiscovered, police say, until a 17-year-old girl escaped from the Perris, Calif., house this week. Her 12 siblings were freed soon after, and her parents were arrested.
On Thursday, David Allen Turpin and Louise Anna Turpin were charged with multiple felony counts of torture, child abuse, abuse of dependent adults and false imprisonment. David Turpin is additionally charged with committing a lewd act on one of the female children by force. The couple, initially arrested on charges of torture and child endangerment, could face up to life in prison if found guilty....
The parents would buy food for themselves but prohibit the children from having any, with the exception of the 2-year-old, who was getting enough to eat. Sometimes, authorities said, the parents would buy apple or pumpkin pies, leave them on the counter and let them go uneaten, prohibiting the children from tasting them.
One 12-year-old is so malnourished that his weight was that of an average 7-year-old, and the 29-year-old female victim weighs 82 pounds, Hestrin said.
The siblings rarely left their Perris house and did not go to school. Instead, they were taught at home, Hestrin said, but were forced to sleep all day and stay up at night, typically going to sleep at 4 or 5 a.m.
The Turpin children were permitted to bathe just once a year, Hestrin said....

One After Another, Athletes Face Larry Nassar and Recount Sexual Abuse
By SCOTT CACCIOLA and CHRISTINE HAUSER JAN. 19, 2018

LANSING, Mich. — Armed with pieces of paper etched with their memories of sexual abuse, they stepped forward, one by one — nearly 100 of them, with more to come.
For four full days this week, in a fluorescent-lighted courtroom here, women and girls — some of them the best gymnasts in the country, others with dreams prematurely crushed, they said, by a man who now sat in handcuffs 10 feet away — leaned into a microphone to address him, sometimes through sobs, sometimes with screams, but always with determination.
Aly Raisman, 23, who won gold medals at the past two Summer Olympics, told of late-night knocks on her hotel door while she was competing overseas, as the man, Dr. Lawrence G. Nassar, then the team doctor, arrived to abuse her.
A teammate at the 2012 London Games, Jordyn Wieber, who until Friday had not identified herself as a victim of Dr. Nassar’s, recalled the torment of the Games, where she was a part of the American team that won a gold medal but, she said, had to submit to his care under the auspices of the sport’s governing body, U.S.A. Gymnastics.
“Our bodies were all hanging by a thread in London,” she said. “Who was the doctor that U.S.A.G. sent? The doctor who was our abuser.”....
“Nobody was protecting us from being taken advantage of,” Ms. Wieber said. “Nobody was ever concerned whether or not we were being sexually abused.”
Ms. Raisman took clear aim at both U.S.A. Gymnastics and the United States Olympic Committee when she appeared in court on Friday.
“Neither U.S.A. Gymnastics nor the U.S.O.C. have reached out to express sympathy or even offer support,” she said. “Not even to ask: ‘How did this happen? What do you think we can do to help?’ Why have I and others here, probably, not heard anything from the leadership at the U.S.O.C.? Why has the United States Olympic Committee been silent? Why isn’t the U.S.O.C. here right now?”....
The impact of the trial, and Dr. Nassar’s history of assault, is spreading well beyond the courtroom. Michigan State University, which employed Dr. Nassar, was also facing increasing pressure after revelations that 14 people, including the president, Lou Anna K. Simon, had been warned about his conduct....

Women Confront Larry Nassar in Court: ‘I Was So Brainwashed Then
By CHRISTINE HAUSER and MAYA SALAM JAN. 22, 2018
Three U.S.A. Gymnastics board members resigned in the wake of Larry Nassar’s sex abuse scandal. More survivors came forward on the fifth day of the sentencing hearing.

....But on Monday in a Michigan courtroom, on the fifth day of Dr. Nassar’s sentencing hearings, dozens of women spoke out or had their statements read aloud for them — statements about how, after winning their trust, he sexually molested them. They described being misled as children and teenagers, saying that they saw Dr. Nassar as a trustworthy savior who consoled them or wiped blood from their faces, and as a man they looked up to as a prominent doctor in gymnastics.
As nearly 100 women did last week, they offered remarks that went beyond the emotional and graphic stories of sexual abuse by Dr. Nassar when they were sent to him as young athletes. On Monday, more than a dozen asked how the abuse could have gone on for decades, and why organizations — such as the national gymnastics governing body and Michigan State University, his employer — enabled him or turned a blind eye.
On Monday, several top board members of U.S.A. Gymnastics announced their resignations, including the group’s chairman, vice chairman and treasurer. On Saturday, a Michigan State trustee, Mitch Lyons, dissented from the board’s public support for its president, Lou Anna K. Simon, calling for her to resign amid questions around her knowledge about Dr. Nassar’s behavior....
As the women approached the podium, they were welcomed by Judge Rosemarie Aquilina of Ingham County Circuit Court, who called them “survivors” and said she would hear statements from more than 140 women altogether, possibly through Tuesday. Dr. Nassar, who has already received a 60-year sentence for child pornography, will be sentenced after the statements are finished.
After each of them spoke, the judge addressed them again, encouraging them to leave their painful memories behind.....
Dr. Nassar pleaded guilty in November to seven counts of sexual assault, and his sentencing hearing, which began last Tuesday, has been growing as the number of women who have wanted to speak in court has grown.....

What MSU knew: 14 were warned of Nassar abuse
8 women reported abuse claims, at least one of which reached president
Kim Kozlowski, The Detroit News

Reports of sexual misconduct by Dr. Larry Nassar reached at least 14 Michigan State University representatives in the two decades before his arrest, with no fewer than eight women reporting his actions, a Detroit News investigation has found.
Among those notified was MSU President Lou Anna Simon, who was informed in 2014 that a Title IX complaint and a police report had been filed against an unnamed physician, she told The News on Wednesday.
“I was informed that a sports medicine doctor was under investigation,” said Simon, who made the brief comments after appearing in court Wednesday to observe a sentencing hearing for Nassar. “I told people to play it straight up, and I did not receive a copy of the report. That’s the truth.”
Among the others who were aware of alleged abuse were athletic trainers, assistant coaches, a university police detective and an official who is now MSU’s assistant general counsel, according to university records and accounts of victims who spoke to The News.
Collectively, the accounts show MSU missed multiple opportunities over two decades to stop Nassar, a graduate of its osteopathic medical school who became a renowned doctor but went on to molest scores of girls and women under the guise of treating them for pain.....
