Munich Abuse Case - Archbishop Ratzinger Failed to Deal with Suspected Pedophile Priest

Munich Abuse Case - Archbishop Ratzinger Failed to Deal with Suspected Pedophile Priest By Conny Neumann and Peter Wensierski 11/29/2010

New documents show how the former Archbishop Joseph Ratzinger -- now Pope Benedict XVI -- and his successor Reinhard Marx failed to properly deal with a suspected pedophile. Despite massive allegations of abuse, the archdiocese allowed the priest to continue working with children.....

According to the allegations, during his tenure in Munich, Ratzinger did not give sufficient attention to the type of duties that were assigned to the alleged pedophile H. Despite massive allegations of abuse levied against the priest, the archdiocese led by Ratzinger allowed H. to continue to be involved in church work with children and young people.

For months now, very little progress has been made in clearing up this case. This is partly because the current archbishop of Munich, Reinhard Marx, who the pope recently promoted to cardinal, swiftly decided that the matter was settled.
H. was transferred to Munich in January 1980 after he had apparently sexually abused a number of boys in his home diocese of Essen. Under Ratzinger's leadership, the Munich archdiocese expressly approved H.'s transfer on January 15, 1980. It was decided that the cleric was to undergo therapy.

No Doubt
Recently discovered documents now show that there could have been no doubt in Munich about the priest's previous history. The head of personnel in Essen had informed Ratzinger's head of personnel by phone and in writing that, in regard to H., "there is a risk which has prompted us to immediately remove him from the parish." Furthermore, he said that "an official complaint has been lodged by members of the parish."
But his victims are still waiting in vain for a genuine clarification of the matter. Wilfried Fesselmann, for instance, who says that he was abused by H. in 1979, wrote to Pope Benedict XVI last May. The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith replied: "Your request is being processed." Since then, he has heard nothing from them. The archdiocese of Munich is also reticent to comment on the case, despite the fact that Marx has pledged: "We want to do everything to clear this up -- we will not look away, play it down or point the finger at others."....

In spring 2010, the Munich affair caused an enormous stir. It initially looked as if the abuse scandal would engulf Ratzinger personally. After all, the pedophile who was accepted by him into the archdiocese in Munich was able to continue working there as a pastor for three decades and find new victims -- despite the fact that he was charged a fine and given a suspended sentence in 1986 for abusing schoolchildren.,1518,731683,00.html

Liberia's civil war - child soldiers, ritual sacrifices and warlords

article describes graphic crimes and rituals

Face to face with General Butt Naked - 'the most evil man in the world' By Edna Fernandes 28th November 2010
....The initiation is complete and the priest is now one of the most powerful leaders in West Africa. The priest is 11 years old.

As prophesied, the boy priest grew up to become one of Liberia's most notorious warlords: General Butt Naked.

He and his boy soldiers would charge into battle naked apart from boots and machine guns.

The initiation sacrifice that he carried out aged 11 was the first life he took out of the 20,000 deaths for which he now claims responsibility.

His rivals dispute the number of deaths as impossible to prove.

Yet what is indisputable is that during Liberia's 14 years of civil war, the man became known as one of the most inhumane and ruthless guerrilla leaders in Africa's history.

After the former General Butt Naked confessed his past to Liberia's Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) in 2008, one internet blogger asked: 'Is this the most evil man who ever lived?'

His crimes included child sacrifice, cannibalism, the exploitation of child soldiers and trading blood diamonds for guns and cocaine, which he fed to boy soldiers as young as nine.

Yet today he says he is a reformed man. In July 1996, the warlord had 'an epiphany'.

Having spent 14 years holding nightly conversations with the devil, he had a blinding vision of Christ who told him to end the killings and convert. This was a Damascene conversion like no other: the former tribal priest and warlord is now known as Pastor Joshua Milton Blahyi.

Barack Obama orders review of Guatemala STD study

Barack Obama orders review of Guatemala STD study

24 Nov 2010 President Barack Obama has asked a bioethical committee to review federal guidelines for protecting humans during medical testing after a US study revealed that Guatemalans were intentionally infected with sexually transmitted diseases from 1946-1948.

Mr Obama sent a letter to Amy Gutmann, director of the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues, asking her to convene a panel in January to determine "if federal regulations and international standards adequately guard the health and wellbeing of participants in scientific studies supported by the federal government."....
The commission should wrap up its work in nine months and then deliver a report to him, he said.

The Guatemalan study, which was never published, came to light this year after Wellesley College professor Susan Reverby stumbled upon archived documents outlining the 1940s experiment led by controversial US public health doctor John Cutler.
Cutler and his fellow researchers enrolled people in Guatemala, including mental patients, for the study, which aimed to find out if penicillin, relatively new in the 1940s, could be used to prevent sexually transmitted diseases.

Cutler, was also involved in a highly controversial study known as the Tuskegee Experiment in which hundreds of African American men with late-stage syphilis were observed but given no treatment for 40 years, between 1932 and 1972.

Initially, the researchers infected female Guatemalan commercial sex workers with gonorrhoea or syphilis, and then allowed them to have unprotected sex with soldiers or prison inmates.

A total of some 1,500 people took part in the study.

CIA brain experiments pursued in veterans’ suit, Paedophile ring in Cornwall

CIA brain experiments pursued in veterans’ suit By Jeff Stein 11/24/2010 The CIA is notorious for its Cold War-era experiments with LSD and other chemicals on unwitting citizens and soldiers. Details have emerged in books and articles beginning more than 30 years ago. But if military veterans have their way in a California law suit, the spy agency’s quest to turn humans into robot-like assassins via electrodes planted in their brains will get far more exposure than the drugs the CIA tested on subjects ranging from soldiers to unwitting bar patrons and the clients of prostitutes....

In 1961, a top CIA scientist reported in an internal memo that "the feasibility of remote control of activities in several species of animals has been demonstrated…Special investigations and evaluations will be conducted toward the application of selected elements of these techniques to man," according to “The CIA and the Search for the Manchurian Candidate,” a 1979 book by former State Department intelligence officer John Marks.
“[T]his cold-blooded project,” Marks wrote, “was designed … for the delivery of chemical and biological agents or for ‘executive action-type operations,’ according to a document. ‘Executive action’ was the CIA's euphemism for assassination.”
The CIA pursued such experiments because it was convinced the Soviets were doing the same.

Victims have sought justice for years, in vain. Now, almost 40 years later, a federal magistrate has ordered the CIA to produce records and witnesses about the LSD and other experiments “allegedly conducted on thousands of soldiers from 1950 through 1975,” according to news accounts.
U.S. Magistrate Judge John Larsen’s Nov. 17 order exempted the agency from having to testify about electrode tests on humans, but Gordon P. Erspamer, lead attorney for the veterans, says “we are pursuing this as well.”
“There is no question that these experiments were done,” Erspamer said by e-mail Tuesday, “but defendants say that they used private researchers and test subjects drawn from prisons, hospitals and nursing homes as subjects, not active duty military [personnel]. CIA said it had no one knowledgeable on this topic.”

Erspamer, senior counsel in the San Francisco office of Morrison & Foerster, said “several” CIA witnesses “are…still alive,” naming some that have been publicly identified, but opting to keep secret others before he calls them.
Papers filed in the case describe “electrical devices implanted in brain tissue with electrodes in various regions, including the hippocampus, the hypothalamus, the frontal lobe (via the septum), the cortex and various other places,” Erspamer said, drawing on [research papers] ( ) written by government scientists....

“A lot of this work was done out of Tulane University using a local state hospital and funding from a cut-out (front) organization called the Commonwealth Fund,” he continued, again drawing on the research papers.
“We tried to get docs from Tulane, but they told us that they were destroyed in the hurricane flooding.”....

Paedophile ring in Cornwall 'abused at least 30 girls' 26 November 2010 A third man involved in a paedophile ring which police say abused dozens of girls has been convicted of sex crimes. James Machin was found guilty at Truro Crown Court of 10 sex offences relating to girls under 13. Two others were convicted of sex abuse charges in 2008. Police described the abuse by the men in the Camborne area, found in a three-year investigation, as "horrific". One victim was five years old. Inquiries began in December 2007 after a victim's parent raised concerns.

Abused at house
Two girls were abused by the same three men, the court heard.
John Barrett, 49, from the Camborne area, abused two girls, who were aged five and seven when the crimes first started, and passed them on to John Wrey to do the same. Barrett was jailed for 14 years and 6 months in 2008 for 16 sexual offences.

Devon and Cornwall Police
Wrey, 55, from Hayle, who was arrested at the same time as Barrett, is serving a five-and-a-year sentence for his part in the abuse after he was also convicted in 2008. On Friday a jury decided, after two days of deliberations, that Machin was also guilty of similar sex offences against the girls which Barrett had passed on to him. Machin, 54, from Falmouth, who was arrested in June 2009 and had denied all 10 counts, has yet to be sentenced.

Collusion: the Dark History of the Duplessis Orphans A Canadian Genocide

Collusion: the Dark History of the Duplessis Orphans A Canadian Genocide

"I, Rod Vienneau and my wife, Clarina Duguay, have written more than two thousand letters demanding justice on behalf of the "Duplessis Orphans" who include, in Quebec: orphans held in psychiatric institutions, farm orphans, orphans of Huberdeau, orphans imprisoned in Bordeaux without trial, first nations (Amerindian) children from different reservations and those coming from practically every orphanage. It is a conspiracy of silence beyond belief that has pushed me to write a book about this case. Thousands of orphans have been kept prisoner illegally here in Quebec, in psychiatric hospitals, in psychiatric sanatoriums and in the Bordeaux prison....from the 1930's until 1975...My long research has led me far beyond the borders of Quebec -- first around Canada, of course, but also to Germany, England and the United States. The latter must be mentioned because they have a very key role in the fate which these children of the past, in Quebec, but also elsewhere, were to meet."

CIA Must Disclose Data on Human Experiments

Mind Control Documents & Links

CIA Must Disclose Data on Human Experiments
By ANNIE YOUDERIAN 11/17/10 (CN) - A federal magistrate judge in San Francisco ordered the CIA to produce specific records and testimony about the human experiments the government allegedly conducted on thousands of soldiers from 1950 through 1975.
Three veterans groups and six individual veterans sued the CIA and other government agencies, claiming they used about 7,800 soldiers as human guinea pigs to research biological, chemical and psychological weapons.

The experiments, many of which took place at Edgewood Arsenal and Fort Detrick in Maryland, allegedly exposed test subjects to chemicals, drugs and electronic implants. Though the soldiers volunteered, they never gave informed consent, because the government didn't fully disclose the risks, the veterans claimed. They were also required to sign an oath of secrecy, according to the complaint.
The veterans filed three sets of document requests to find out who was tested, what substances they were given, and how it affected them. Between October and April, the government produced about 15,000 pages of heavily redacted records, most of which related to the named plaintiffs only.

The CIA argued that much of the information requested was protected under the Privacy Act and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. U.S. Magistrate Judge James Larson acknowledged that some of the requests were too broad and ordered the veterans to be more specific and to reduce the total number of requests.
For example, Larson said the plaintiffs' definition of "test program" is "overbroad," as it not only named experimental programs like "Bluebird," "Artichoke" and "MKUltra," but also included "any other program of experimentation involving human testing of any substance, including but not limited to 'MATERIAL TESTING PROGRAM EA 1729.'"

He ordered the veterans to provide a list of specific test programs and test substances. But once the plaintiffs narrow their requests, Larson said, they are entitled to most of the information. Each government agency must respond individually to each request, he said, and if an agency denies any request, it must explain -- in sufficient detail -- why the records are purportedly privileged....

Larson....then addressed which topics are fair game for deposition, saying the government must produce witnesses to testify about the following: communication between the VA and test subjects on their health care claims; a 1963 CIA Inspector General report on an experiment called MKUltra, and the basis for each redaction on that report; the scope and conduct of document searches; the doses and effects of substances administered to test subjects; any contract or research proposals concerning the experiments; a confidential Army memo about the use of volunteers in research; all government-led human experiments from 1975 to date, but only those that involve specific drugs; and whether the government secretly administered MKUltra materials to "the patrons of prostitutes" in safe houses in New York and San Francisco, as the veterans claimed.

Judge Larson ruled for the CIA on other issues, however, saying the agency's not required to testify about test subjects who withdrew their consent or refused to participate; devices allegedly implanted into certain test subjects; the alleged use of patients at VA hospitals as guinea pigs in chemical and biological weapons experiments; or the drug research studies conducted by Dr. Paul Hoch, who was purportedly funded by the government and caused the death of a patient named Harold Blauer.

No Longer a Pedophile’s Haven - A crackdown in Cambodia

No Longer a Pedophile’s Haven - A crackdown in Cambodia is catching Western men, but locals still mostly unhindered by Brendan Brady November 16, 2010 ....Following pressure from local activists as well as the United States, Australia, and some European countries, Cambodia launched a campaign in 2003 to fight its reputation as a pedophile’s carefree playground. By most accounts, the effort has achieved results. Now, articles about arrests of North American and European nationals pepper the pages of the local press. The crackdown and accompanying PR campaign helped lift Cambodia from the gutter of the U.S. human-trafficking watchlist, making the donor-dependent country eligible for a greater variety of direct aid.

“For Western pedophiles, Cambodia is no longer a safe haven,” says Samleang Seila, the head of the local child-protection group Action Pour Les Enfants (APLE). The change is evidenced by a rising number of arrests for “debauchery” and “indecent acts,” which grew from just eight in 2003 to 36 last year, according to APLE. The organization tracks sex tourists, gathers evidence against them and hands their cases over to local police. That’s when things can easily unravel: inexperienced and under-resourced, Cambodia’s police and judiciary are prone to corruption and poor implementation of the law. But despite its shaky foundation, the legal system has made strides, says Joerg Langelotz, of APLE. Case in point: the same judge in the town of Siem Reap who a year and a half ago declined to deliberate on a child-molestation charge because the alleged abuse didn’t exceed fondling has now agreed to hear the case. “There is less complacency and more commitment,” says Langelotz.

Nazis Were Given ‘Safe Haven’ in U.S., Report Says

Nazis Were Given ‘Safe Haven’ in U.S., Report Says
By ERIC LICHTBLAU Published: November 13, 2010
WASHINGTON — A secret history of the United States government’s Nazi-hunting operation concludes that American intelligence officials created a “safe haven” in the United States for Nazis and their collaborators after World War II, and it details decades of clashes, often hidden, with other nations over war criminals here and abroad.
The 600-page report, which the Justice Department has tried to keep secret for four years, provides new evidence about more than two dozen of the most notorious Nazi cases of the last three decades.

It describes the government’s posthumous pursuit of Dr. Josef Mengele, the so-called Angel of Death at Auschwitz, part of whose scalp was kept in a Justice Department official’s drawer; the vigilante killing of a former Waffen SS soldier in New Jersey; and the government’s mistaken identification of the Treblinka concentration camp guard known as Ivan the Terrible....
The full report disclosed that the Justice Department found “a smoking gun” in 1997 establishing with “definitive proof” that Switzerland had bought gold from the Nazis that had been taken from Jewish victims of the Holocaust. But these references are deleted, as are disputes between the Justice and State Departments over Switzerland’s culpability in the months leading up to a major report on the issue.

Another section describes as “a hideous failure” a series of meetings in 2000 that United States officials held with Latvian officials to pressure them to pursue suspected Nazis. That passage is also deleted.
So too are references to macabre but little-known bits of history, including how a director of the O.S.I. kept a piece of scalp that was thought to belong to Dr. Mengele in his desk in hopes that it would help establish whether he was dead.
The chapter on Dr. Mengele, one of the most notorious Nazis to escape prosecution, details the O.S.I.’s elaborate efforts in the mid-1980s to determine whether he had fled to the United States and might still be alive.
It describes how investigators used letters and diaries apparently written by Dr. Mengele in the 1970s, along with German dental records and Munich phone books, to follow his trail.

Report details U.S. role in hunting, hiding Nazis Eric Lichtblau, New York Times
November 14, 2010 A secret history of the U.S. government's Nazi-hunting operation concludes that American intelligence officials created a "safe haven" in the United States for Nazis and their collaborators after World War II, and it details decades of clashes, often hidden, with other nations over war criminals here and abroad.
The 600-page report, which the Justice Department has tried to keep secret for four years, provides new evidence about more than two dozen of the most notorious Nazi cases of the last three decades....The Justice Department report, describing what it calls "the government's collaboration with persecutors," says that OSI investigators learned that some of the Nazis "were indeed knowingly granted entry" to the United States, even though government officials were aware of their pasts....

The Justice Department has resisted making the report public since 2006. Under the threat of a lawsuit, it turned over a heavily redacted version last month to a private research group, the National Security Archive, but even then many of the most legally and diplomatically sensitive portions were omitted. A complete version was obtained by the New York Times.
The Justice Department said the report, the product of six years of work, was never formally completed and did not represent its official findings. It cited "numerous factual errors and omissions," but declined to say what they were.

More than 300 Nazi persecutors have been deported, stripped of citizenship or blocked from entering the United States since the creation of the OSI, which was merged with another unit this year.
The Justice Department itself sometimes concealed what U.S. officials knew about Nazis in this country, the report found.
In 1980, prosecutors filed a motion that "misstated the facts" in asserting that checks of CIA and FBI records revealed no information on the Nazi past of Tscherim Soobzokov, a former Waffen SS soldier. In fact, the report said, the Justice Department "knew that Soobzokov had advised the CIA of his SS connection after he arrived in the United States."

The New York Times - Secret Justice Department Report Details How the U.S. Helped Former Nazis - An internal history of the United States government’s Nazi-hunting operation provides gripping new evidence about some of the most notorious Nazi cases of the last three decades. The Justice Department kept the 600-page report secret for the last four years, releasing a heavily redacted version last month to a private research group that sued to force its release. A complete version was obtained by The New York Times.

Amazon Yanks Pedophilia E-Book Amid Boycott Talk

Amazon Yanks Pedophilia E-Book Amid Boycott Talk 11/11/10 (Nov. 11) -- appears to have severed sales of an e-book that condones pedophilia, after news of the self-published "child-lover's" guide went viral on the Internet and sparked cries for a boycott of the online bookseller.

The book, "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: A Child-Lover's Code of Conduct," still appears on the Amazon site, but its link yields an error message. All 3,011 customer reviews are also inaccessible, but a discussion page about the book is still visible. It is rated by Amazon users as having one out of five stars.
"I am extremely joyous for the Victory pertaining to the removal of this nasty book," wrote one user.

There's been no official word from Amazon that it has dropped the book. As of this morning, the book was inaccessible on the site, but users in Amazon's discussion forum said it was available intermittently throughout the night.

Amazon Backing Down? 'Pedophile Guide' Listing Unavailable After Outrage November 11, 2010 An e-book for sale on entitled "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure," was no longer available from the retailer late Wednesday after shocked consumers across the nation called for a boycott....The listing and description of the item was no longer available early Thursday. It was unclear if the item was intentionally pulled.

"This is my attempt to make pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certian [sic] rules for these adults to follow," a product description read. "I hope to achieve this by appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter sentences should they ever be caught."

The content led to hundreds of tweets criticizing Amazon for allowing the title to be sold and a Facebook page was created calling for a boycott of the Seattle-based company.

'Pedophile's Guide' Sparks Angry Criticism of Amazon, defends 'Pedophile's Guide'

'Pedophile's Guide' Sparks Angry Criticism of Amazon
(Nov. 10) - The trend on Twitter today was anger.
A group of Twitterati is upset at for selling a Kindle edition of a book called "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure." With all of Twitter's 190-million-plus users as an audience, they let their feelings be known -- in 140 characters or less. "Dear @Amazon," said one microblogger, using a function that directs the message toward Amazon's own Twitter account, "Free speech doesn't include a written manual on how to exploit, molest and rape our children."

Amazon did not respond to a message from AOL News seeking comment. But in a statement to AOL's Tech Crunch, the retail giant said: " Amazon believes it is censorship not to sell certain books simply because we or others believe their message is objectionable. Amazon does not support or promote hatred or criminal acts, however, we do support the right of every individual to make their own purchasing decisions."

Twitter declined to comment in a message to AOL News.
The book's poorly spelled page on the Amazon website says it aims to make "pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certian (sic) rules for these adults to follow." The Web page lists the publication date as Oct. 28, 2010, and the author as Phillip R. Greaves.
The description also says the author hopes the book will lead to "liter (sic) sentences" for pedophiles.

Amazon defends 'Pedophile's Guide'
Another book protested in 2002 for advocating adult-child sex is still available on the site By Helen A.S. Popkin
11/10/2010 NEW YORK — Amazon is selling a self-published book defending pedophiles, sparking discussions about the retailer's obligation to vet items before they are sold in its online stores, and threats of boycott from Amazon customers if the book is not removed. The book, " The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover's Code of Conduct" by Philip R. Greaves II, offers advice to pedophiles afraid of becoming the center of retaliation. It is an electronic book available for Inc.'s Kindle e-reader.

The author's description (misspellings included) reads:
"This is my attempt to make pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certian rules for these adults to follow. I hope to achieve this by appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter sentences should they ever be caught."

Amazon issued a statement that will no doubt fuel the outraged comments multiplying on the "Pedophile's Guide" Amazon page. "Amazon believes it is censorship not to sell certain books simply because we or others believe their message is objectionable," it reads. "Amazon does not support or promote hatred or criminal acts, however, we do support the right of every individual to make their own purchasing decisions."....A customer review on the "Pedophile's Guide" Amazon page written by "Outraged Mother" reads, "The line of immorality is at best a zone with ill defined boundaries. Whatever. This crosses into the unsavory and shameful side of the zone. Take it down."

"There is a point when, even though a company has a no-censorship policy, that selling certain books is simply wrong," reads "Disgusting Abomination," another customer review. "Not censoring is one thing, and I commend that, but choosing to sell this book on a site that accessed by millions of people (including children) daily is reprehensible. This is a disgusting choice you have made, Amazon. Whatever money you are making off this book can't be worth the ire you are receiving for selling it."....In 2002, cited the First Amendment as justification for offering another book that advocates adult-child sex, "Understanding Loved Boys and Boylovers," by David L. Riegel. Further, the paperback book is still available on the site.

Facebook and Child Pornography, Federal crackdown on child prostitution

Facebook and Child Pornography
By James R. Marsh on November 9, 2010
Infamous child pornographer ...whose a longtime, well-recognized tag for hardcore child pornography, has a Facebook interest group with almost 300 fans.
Unfortunately, there's lots more thanks to an anonymous reader of this blog who assembled a damning cornucopia of profiles and links to such Facebook interest groups as "incest," "preteen hardcore," "our little group," and "lolita."....All of this material was assembled in a few hours by an amateur slooth.

Federal crackdown on child prostitution results in 884 arrests By Michael Martinez, CNN November 9, 2010 (CNN) - A three-day federal crackdown on child prostitution rings across the country has resulted in the recovery of 69 children and the arrest of 884 people, including 99 pimps, federal authorities said Monday....
The three-day federal sweep, called Operation Cross Country V, involved 40 cities nationwide and is part of the Innocence Lost National Initiative, authorities said. "Child prostitution continues to be a significant problem in our country, as evidenced by the number of children rescued through the continued efforts of our crimes against children task forces," said Shawn Henry, executive assistant director of the FBI's Criminal, Cyber, Response and Service Branch, in a written statement.

Healing Trauma with Energy Psychology - Survivorship Webinar Nov. 20

Healing Trauma with Energy Psychology - Survivorship Webinar Nov. 20

Saturday, November 20 - noon to 2:00 Pacific time
(Check in at 11:45)

Carol Ann Rowland, MSW
"Healing Trauma with Energy Psychology."

Energy Psychology is a broad range of techniques that combine Eastern approaches to the mind and body with Western psychology and psychotherapy ideas. Each technique intentionally utilizes one of the human energy systems - such as the meridian system, the chakra system, or the aura system – during psychological treatment. Techniques, such as EMDR, which do not use energy system intentionally, and techniques, such as acupuncture, that don't use psychological processes, aren't called Energy Psychology.

From the point of view of Energy Psychology, painful physical, emotional and spiritual symptoms are the result of a disruption in the energy system. When the disruption is corrected, symptoms are replaced by healthy functioning.

This Webinar will start with an overview of the various types of Energy Psychology and then focus on Zensight, which combines several different approaches in a coordinated whole.

Child Prostitution Busts in the United States

FBI: 69 children, 99 pimps found in national bust - Associated Press November 8, 2010 More than five dozen child prostitutes have been found in the last three days as part of a nationwide crackdown on the sexual exploitation of children, the FBI said Monday. FBI spokesman Jason Pack said 69 children were removed from prostitution and 99 suspected pimps were arrested in 40 cities across 30 states and the District of Columbia. Authorities arrested 785 other adults on a variety state and local charges, Pack said. All the children found in the last three days have been placed into protective custody or returned to their families.

The children were found during Operation Cross Country V, a three-day roundup targeting child traffickers and pimps. The largest group of child prostitutes, 24, was found in and around Seattle, according to the FBI. FBI executive assistant director Shawn Henry said the children found ranged in age from 12 to 17....Since 2003, when the FBI and the Justice Department launched the Innocence Lost National Initiative, about 1,250 child prostitutes have been located and removed from prostitution.

Indictment: Somali Gangs Trafficked Girls For Sex - 29 Indicted In Juvenile Sex Ring Allegedly Run By Somali Gangs; Girls Prostituted In 3 States Nov. 08, 2010 MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Twenty-nine people have been indicted in a sex trafficking ring in which Somali gangs in Minneapolis and St. Paul allegedly forced girls under age 14 into prostitution in Minnesota, Tennessee and Ohio, according to an indictment unsealed Monday. The 24-count indictment, unsealed in U.S. District Court in the Middle District of Tennessee, said one of the gangs' goals was recruiting females under age 18, including some under age 14, and forcing them into prostitution so the defendants could get money, marijuana or liquor. The indictment details several instances in which young Somali or African American girls were taken from place to place and forced to engage in sex acts with multiple people. One girl was under 13 when she was first prostituted. Another girl was 18 when she was raped by multiple men in a hotel room, the indictment said.

Tyler Perry's child abuse and 200 men - Oprah, CSA and psychosis risk

Tyler Perry Tells Oprah More About His Abusive Past By Sara Hammel October 21, 2010 He stunned his fans last year with revelations of his abusive past and now Tyler Perry is opening up about just how bad it got. In a new interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired Wednesday, the writer-director says his own father beat him brutally. In one harrowing moment, he recalls when his father whipped him with a vacuum cord.
....On top of his father's beatings, Perry says he was sexually abused by four different adults, beginning when he was five or six. On one occasion, he was building a birdhouse with an adult male neighbor who proceeded to put his hands in Tyler's pants. "I felt my body betraying me," he says, "because I felt an erection at that age."
Later, Tyler said he was sexually molested by a male nurse and a man he knew from church. The man from church "used God and the Bible against me to justify a lot of the things that were going on. It was so horrible," he said. "And that was my first sexual experience – with this man performing oral sex on me as a boy.",,20435854,00.html

Childhood Sexual Abuse May Raise Risk for Psychosis
November 02, 2010.
Abuse involving penetration associated with higher risk, especially for schizophrenic disorders -
Childhood sexual abuse involving penetration appears to increase the risk of developing psychotic disorders later in life, according to research published in the November issue of the Archives of General Psychiatry.

TUESDAY, Nov. 2 (HealthDay News) -- Childhood sexual abuse involving penetration appears to increase the risk of developing psychotic disorders later in life, according to research published in the November issue of the Archives of General Psychiatry.
Margaret C. Cutajar, of Monash University in Clifton Hill, Australia, and colleagues studied mental health data on 2,759 subjects who had been sexually abused as children, matched with community-based controls, to explore whether childhood sexual abuse raises the risk for subsequent psychotic disorders.

The researchers found rates for general psychosis, and particularly for schizophrenic disorders, significantly higher in the childhood sexual abuse subjects than in the controls (2.8 versus 1.4 percent for general psychosis and 1.9 versus 0.7 percent for schizophrenic disorders in abuse subjects and controls, respectively). Risk for later psychosis was highest in those whose abuse occurred after age 12, involved penetration, and involved more than one perpetrator. Abuse without penetration was not related to significant increases in general psychosis or schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia and Other Psychotic Disorders in a Cohort of Sexually Abused Children

Arch Gen Psychiatry. 2010;67(11):1114-1119. doi:10.1001/archgenpsychiatry.2010.147

Setting - Sample drawn from all notified cases of child sexual abuse over a 30-year period in Victoria, Australia.
Participants - A cohort of 2759 individuals ascertained as having been sexually abused when younger than 16 years had their subsequent contacts with mental health services established by data linkage. They were compared with a community-based control group matched on sex and age groupings whose rates of disorder were established using identical methods.
Main - Outcome Measures - Rates of psychotic and schizophrenic illnesses.
Results - Rates were significantly higher among child sexual abuse subjects compared with controls for psychosis in general (2.8% vs 1.4%; odds ratio, 2.1; 95% confidence interval, 1.4-3.1; P < .001) and schizophrenic disorders in particular (1.9% vs 0.7%; odds ratio, 2.6; 95% confidence interval, 1.6-4.4; P < .001). Those exposed to penetrative abuse had even higher rates of psychosis (3.4%) and schizophrenia (2.4%). Abuse without penetration was not associated with significant increases in psychosis or schizophrenia. The risks were highest for those whose abuse involved penetration, occurred after age 12 years, and involved more than 1 perpetrator, the combination producing rates of 8.6% for schizophrenia and 17.2% for psychosis.

Conclusions - Child sexual abuse involving penetration is a risk factor for developing psychotic and schizophrenic syndromes. The risk is greater for adolescents subjected to penetration. Irrespective of whether this statistical association reflects any causal link, it does identify an at-risk population in need of ongoing support and treatment.

Man Arrested After Suing the Vatican, Trauma and adult mental health conference

Forensic Aspects of Dissociative Identity Disorder - Child Abuse Wiki

Man Arrested After Suing the Vatican By TIM HULL November 01, 2010 SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - A man charged with assaulting a priest at a Jesuit retirement home has sued the Vatican, claiming it knew its priest had sexually molested him and others, and failed to protect him from being "raped, tortured, and forced to engage in sexual acts with his own brother," when they were children.
William Lynch, 43, was arrested on Friday, 2 days after he sued the Vatican, the Oakland Archdiocese, the Jesuit Order, The Christian Family Movement and others in Federal Court. Lynch was accused of assaulting the Rev. Jerold Lindner, 65, in the lobby of a retirement home in Los Gatos, in May this year.
Lynch claims Lindner oversaw his rape, torture and abuse at a summer camp when he was 7, and that the religious defendants knew of Lindner's propensities, and covered for him for decades.
"In May 1975, plaintiff was entrusted to a CFM [Christian Family Movement] children's camp in Portola State Park in the state of California, whereat he was raped, tortured, and forced to engage in sexual acts with is own brother by Jesuit priest and CFM Camp Spiritual Advisor Jerold W. Lindner. Plaintiff was 7 years old at that time," according to the complaint.
"Not only did the Jesuit Order know of Lindner's propensities for child rape and abuse, Lindner was well known by his order as a 'torturer of children.' He was specifically known for sexual gratification while torturing his victims among his order, and his reputation and knowledge of his crimes extended all the way to the Holy See in the 1970s [and] 1980s."....Lynch says in his complaint that the Vatican and the other defendants continue to protect the retired priest after "decades of abuse and hundreds of victims."....The Associated Press reported on Friday, however, that "Father Lindner, 65, has been accused of abuse by nearly a dozen people, including his sister and nieces and nephews. ... He has previously denied abusing the Lynch boys and has not been criminally charged. The abuse falls outside the statute of limitations."
The AP report continued: "Father Lindner was removed from the ministry and placed at the Los Gatos retirement home in 2001. "He was named in two additional lawsuits for abuse between 1973 and 1985, according to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. The cases were included in a $660 million settlement struck between the church and more than 550 plaintiffs in 2007."...."Lindner's sexual abuse of children began in [the] 1950s, continued through the 1970s and persisted into the 1980s, when Lindner was actually promoted by defendants to a teacher post at an all boys school, Loyola High School in Los Angeles," according to the complaint.

Trauma and adult mental health conference
When: 30/11/2010 10.00am to 4.30pm
Where: ORT House Conference Centre, London NW1 UK
Childhood trauma as a result of abuse is frequently the catalyst for ongoing mental health related problems in adulthood. Statistics about trauma and adult mental health issues make shocking reading.
The impacts of trauma are far-reaching, touching every part of survivors’ lives. Social problems such as homelessness, physical manifestations such as self-harm and eating disorders and personal and emotional difficulties in forming healthy relationships are all possible outcomes. The conference will address some of the outcomes linked with childhood trauma; the pathways to recovery and possible therapeutic interventions that can be used....Substance misuse is a particular area of concern and the expert speaker will explore the links between trauma and substance misuse in adults.

The diagnosis of dissociative identity disorder will be analysed and explained – 90% of adults with dissociative identity disorder (DID) were abused as children.
A final session will revisit the issues around childhood abuse and describe ways in which early intervention can prevent the cycle repeating itself.
